    2016 LR4 Suspension Issue

This is what I was thinking. Something electronic is causing things to leak, and the front valve block is really all there is in that regard.

    2016 LR4 Suspension Issue

It drops overnight, but when you remove the fuse it does not drop at all? Are you parking on level ground? Try removing the fuse again, only this time put it in offroad height before you do. Not all leaks result in an error code. Even if you have a leak, the compressor will overpower it...

    Control arm fail

No idea what the exact driving symptoms are of a bad rear control arm. I can imagine it may be a clunk or some looseness in the rear. In the videos I've seen with "bad" upper control arm bushings, they have the wheel off and they demonstrate obvious play around the bushing. Apparently, one of...

Third set of rear uppers? How many miles on your LR4? Any idea what mileage they were done at?

    Control arm fail

Looking at youtube videos on rear control arm replacement (mostly LR3/Disco 3 videos), I see several mentions that the rear upper control arms are susceptible to going out, only second to the front lower control arms. Has anyone here ever had them replaced? I recall seeing a few here mention...

    Control arm fail

They'll still do them, when they get around to them. I made an appointment for a different location on Thursday at noon. Let's hope that location knows how to both take and keep a reservation.

    Control arm fail

Lifetime alignment is the only reason I'm going there. This experience torqued me the wrong way. Every other experience has actually been great, though, so I'm considering it a one off or maybe just a ton of people coming in for alignments after the snow and ice we've been having the last few...

    Control arm fail

Picked up my LR4 from my independent mechanic this afternoon. He replaced my LCAs with the Meyle HD units, and my upper control arms with the Lemforder. My lowers were in fine condition; just wanted to get rid of the poly bushings. Uppers were original, with 133k miles on them. When I picked...

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Depends on what year your LR4 is. Is it a V8 or a SCV6?

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

I have not seen anyone who's done any sort of engine or transmission swap that was not just a rebuilt 5.0. A few years ago, there was a post on here about someone who had LS swapped a RRS, but his was more of a street-oriented car. I think you'd be the trailblazer.

    Battery rundown protection?

Going back to this, I think it probably could be as simple as a firmware update. Land Rover is beaming down software/firmware updates to newish vehicles as it is, so make this a priority. Give the vehicles a "camp mode" that turns off the "auto on" functions when the doors open. It's kind of...

    Battery rundown protection?

It may not in the LR4, but I was speaking specifically of the new Defender. A few people have purportedly killed their battery while out in the sticks.

    Removing rear seats?

Not going with Front Runner. I can spend $3k on a lot of things, but just can't justify $3k for some drawers. I saw that Ironman 4x4 had a winter sale and took a chance on their 900mm version. They could be cheap as ****. Probably are. But my plan is to modify them a bit, build my own wing...

    Removing rear seats?

For anyone interested in going the Pelican route for rear storage, two BX90r cases would be near perfect for the rear of the LR4. I bought one for the purpose of just trying it out, with the idea of building some sort of box that two of these would slide into with a carpeted false-floor above...

    Battery rundown protection?

The depleted battery issues are purportedly from those who go camping, park their vehicle, then open and close a door several times over the night (or however long they are camped in one spot) to access different things they need without starting the vehicle and letting it charge. If it were...

    Battery rundown protection?

Never realized that. The "entire system waking up every time the door is open" has been a topic of discussion regarding the new Defender, and how it can drain the battery if you keep re-entering the vehicle at a remote campsite.

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

Well, the 8 speed is connected to the supercharged V8s in the L405, so it's something Land Rover does from the factory.

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

It's so strange to me that those wires can break like that when they have presumably never been moved around since Land Rover built the vehicle. Maybe there's something about getting jarred every now and then when the hatch is opened and closed.

    Control arm fail

I ordered the Meyle lower control arms. The LCAs in my LR4 right now are the ones Atlantic British sells or used to sell with the green poly bushings. They've been in since October 2019 and for around 45k miles. No urgent need for replacement, but doing it because: 1. Never really liked the...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I'll warn you that the torx bits themselves in that kit aren't the best quality, but any standard bit works in the ratcheting wrench itself.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

There are a few jobs on the LR4 that require a shallow-depth torx tool. I've used this on all of them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077YFVC3W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

I may have stated it earlier in the thread, but something that should have been a dead giveaway to me is that when I took the wires than ran into the switch and "shorted" them together, nothing happened. At the time, I wasn't sure whether the switch just essentially made a connection between...

Front brake pads on 2013LR4 funny looking weight?

I'm a little surprised that a Nevada vehicle is like that. You may have said on here before that it came from somewhere else, though. Anyway, it's probably a good idea to put a thin film of antiseize on the hub surface before installing a new rotor, especially if the hub-part of the rotor...
