    maintenance history since new 2013

All you all keeping track of the dollar amount are gluttons for punishment. I keep track of the date, mileage, and the task/work done. No columns for dollar amount. I don't want to keep tissues near my spreadsheet.

Front brake pads on 2013LR4 funny looking weight?

Why didn't you replace the rotors? I understand you said in the other thread that you are still using your old worn rotors because they were proving hard to get off, but that's a problem that's only going to get worse. Hammer the **** out of them. I'm pretty sure that's why your Ferodo pads...

Front brake pads on 2013LR4 funny looking weight?

Oh man. That post was almost 7 years ago. I think I was using the green pads, but no idea of the part number. Nevermind. Just searched my email history. DP62060 6000 Series. After that, I swore by Hawk brake pads for a bit, and now I'm using Ferodo. I think next week will be my 8th...

    Lr4 Brakes

The Ferodos are the OEM pad, so not sure why they'd make a difference. Did the new Ferodos you put on have the plastic shims on the back? The round metal weight?

bad lower ball joint lead to howling?

Get new control arm bolts. I replaced my hubs at around 125k miles. No play in them at all, but once I removed the old ones I could tell they felt a little "gritty" when I'd spin them.

bad lower ball joint lead to howling?

Replace the hole control arm. Bad lower ball joint could be throwing you out of alignment, which could cause the howling.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Speaking of hassle, in the 8 years I've owned my LR4 I think I've had the sunroof open two or three times. I'd much rather it just didn't have it at all.

    Think these will fit?

Am I right in recalling that the original X5 shares a lot of chassis with the L322? Would make sense, as the 3rd gen FFRR was created and released when Land Rover was under BMW ownership.

    Think these will fit?

There was a post on this forum a while back about 18" BMW wheels fitting. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/just-installed-cooper-s-t-maxx-tires-on-18-bmw-wheels.30667/ I searched far and wide and never found reliable specifications of their weight rating. Probably good enough, but who...

    Lr4 Brakes

I've always used a classic C-Clamp and an old brake pad to compress the caliper. Maybe the special tool makes the procedure a little less clumsy and a bit more elegant? No idea. But I'd only be interested in that special tool if I was doing this job for a living; not doing it once every few...

    Think these will fit?

Only if you swap the brakes for V6 LR3 brakes.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

It will be impossible to use anything but the side port to fill the transmission. Filling from the bottom will just have the fluid dropping right back onto your face.

Made an appointment for timing chain fix

$440 seems right. I have yet to see any report of an aftermarket cooling-system part being as good as a factory part, so I'd stay away from aftermarket (unless the "aftermarket" part was the same as OEM, just under the aftermarket manufacturer's name).

    Lr4 Brakes

Coating on the hub portion helps slow rust and helps keep them from seizing to the hub.

    Lr4 Brakes

I used the LTS brake pads. Worked great the first go around (around 45k to 50k miles), but could not get them to stop squealing the second time. Shame, because they work just as good as the OEM with about 1/3 the brake dust. I suppose I could have tried some brake adhesive spray, but after...

    Control arm fail

I'm like you. The control arms I bought to replace the Luck8 turds were the ones Atlantic British sold with the green poly. I almost immediately regretted it as the ride was noticeably more harsh. I think I'll swap them for the Meyle HD version soon.

    Control arm fail

I used Lucky8 control arms when my factory control arm bushings went. After about 13 months, the ball joints in the Lucky8 arms had deteriorated and were making a terrible sound. I called Lucky8 and they said there was nothing they could or would do about it. I pulled those arms and replaced...

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Where is the elbow located within the sunroof drain routing? I've blown out my drains before, but I've never inspected an elbow.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

It could also be the A-pillar trim leaking. Land Rover has a factory fix for a hole that's behind the A-pillar trim.

    LR4 Buyers Guide YouTube Video

What sort of experience do you have with the LR4? Neat that you are taking the initiative, but I suppose a pet peeve of mine is when people post authoritative clips on youtube without any actual basis of knowledge. I had to stop watching videos on vehicles I know because it aggravated me how...

Range rover sport control arms on LR4

As @mbw said, I think these are the exact same as the OE Land Rover control arms, only the bushings are solid rubber and don't have the fluid inside.

    Control arm fail

Lucky8 is a good Land Rover parts supplier, but I don't trust their house brand suspension parts further than I can kick them.

If it is your compressor, the cheapest place for a new one is LR Centre in the UK.

    Suspension Fault - C1A18-64

I know this response is older than dirt and this poster was a one-pump chump, but I can assure you, after having gone through my entire suspension in the years following this, it was a the compressor that was replaced and nothing else. Nothing misleading here. I'd tell @Mwood1164 to buzz off...
