Never fear buying a Turbo-Diesel LR4 or RR Sport. The 3.0 liter V6 is a brilliant engine. Even the lower powered TD6 is more than sufficient. Well crap!
I'd be shocked & bummed too. I assume it's the V8?? We don't hear of many catastrophic failures here in Australia because the vast majority of D4's are 3.0 lt. diesels. Leaving the hood / bonnet open overnight for rats.

Yes, I'm very happy with all my APT Offroad gear. I also got their Transmission/Transfer case guard. It's vastly better than the flimsy OE guard. I'm amazed that the Terrafirma sliders need any modification to the mounting holes. Kenk above mentioned that he'd watched the YouTube video from APT Offroad. Compomotive PD 1881 finish delamination
My 2014 D4 now has "Graphite" Compo 18"s with 265/60X18 BFG KO 2's with the original lugnuts. While in the U.K. I bought a set of LR locknuts which are natural steel finish, so it's not possible to put black lugnuts on the dark gray Compo's. Question for LR4 owners that switched to 18" wheels
I'm now a few months in with my 18" Compomotives & 265/60 X 18 BFG A/T KO2's. I'm very happy I didn't to to 265/65's as there's not much room to spare in the guards.
