I got to 130 mph according to the speedo, on a slight downward gradient. With a GAP tool lift, 265/65/18's and worn rear upper control arm bushings it was quite an interesting experience, one I'm not likely to repeat; I was being rather naughty on a very empty stretch of 285 in between Vaughn...
Nice review. On another note. LR is touting this vehicle with the stiffest chassis. How is this stiffer that the full monocoque/ladder BIF construction of the LR4? Could you tell a difference?
What a great project mate. Thanks for posting this. I was gonna start something similar this spring, but I need to spend the money on a new parking brake module.
I did something similar, but wanted the square/flush with grill look, although my brackets are bolted to the upright alloy extrusions. I also wanted easy grill removal.
I'll reply lol. Add a circuit for 12v aac ignition power, and the best/easiest place to pull a wire through the firewall is not the spare grommet hiding up high behind the master cylinder, its where the main wiring harness goes through lower down on the firewall, to the left of the steering column.
Hello all,
Can anyone recommend the best place to tap into 12v acc (ignition powered) near the battery? I'm looking at installing an sPOD, for some future accessories, but before I go tapping into wires, I thought someone might have a better solution.
Yep, my coolant was pumping out of the front water pump bearing, hitting he fan and spraying all over the inside of the engine bay. But I was still able to drive 40 mins home because I keep 2 gallons of mixed coolant ready. - Completely fill up the expansion bottle, drive until it says low...
OK time to eat my words.. I strongly suggest you add a winch/bull-bar to your must have additions. Just 1 hr ago I hit another frikken deer! No damage except for mangled tag plate and both parking sensor popped inside the plastics. Luckily this was a 35 mph hit. Now, to off-set the weight gain...
I live off-road. Yes, down a sand road in the Pine Barrens. My LR4 doesn't see a lot of rocks, but it does get very deep muddy bomb-holes, massive flooding on the trails this past year, and sugar sand is highly abrasive. My suggestion is: 1. Gap tool, 2. Tires and wheels -265x65x18 -GFB A/T's...
Good luck mate. If you were a bit closer to NJ I'd come over and give you a hand. Its always good to have some moral support. I remember changing my Series 2 gearbox over a ditch on the side of a road lol. The Rover SD1 V8 conversion it had used to destroy them. In fact after we dropped the old...
