    Locking Differentials on Display Screen?

I don't have the rear locker, so it always stays unlocked in the display. I guess the wiring and brain are there should I ever find an HD diff for sale on Craigslist lol.

    LR4 Shock Longevity

Well I did take your advice, and had a play around with on and off road heights, and found the perfect height for me rolling around the Pine Barrens, +30mm, so slightly over 1" This is not crazy high in off-road mode either, but then again I rarely use terrain response. I've found simply turning...

    ***BEWARE LAND ROVER KNOXVILLE! ***

Thanks I was thinking about these lug nuts, so you recommend them? As you know the LR originals are about $9.95 each.

More proof the LR4 is a very safe vehicle

I read somewhere the LR4 has the lowest insurance personal injury protection claims of any vehicle.

    Phone Mount For LR4?

I use a Ram Mount with the suction cup on the windscreen, the other good thing about this mount is that I can use the phone camera to film the road ahead if something crazy is happening lol: Roll over image to zoom in Ram Mount Composite Twist Lock Suction Cup Mount with Universal...

Yeah it is probably a bit overkill. Although I do like the higher look. Maybe I'll drop it down a little.

    LR4 1, Deer 0

I did take a pic during the repair. The bunched up shop towels are from me crying lol. No, I ended up epoxying the bottom cap back onto the fender flair because the plastic tabs were broken off. I also used some of that hand-mushable marine epoxy putty to rebuild the missing/broken plastic clip...

    LR4 Shock Longevity

All very interesting. I'm on 105K miles with the originals, and everything seems to be running ok. Now, with my GAP tool I have given the suspension about 50mm of extra lift for my bigger tires (265/65/18), and I'm wondering whether that helps with bag wear due to less creasing. My LR4 spends a...

    LR4 1, Deer 0

So I just hit an adult Doe doing about 50mph. Quite amazed, because the only damage was that it popped a few fasteners off the drivers side wheel arch trim (at the top of the arch). Years ago I hit a deer doing abt 45 in my old 05 Pathfinder and it pretty much destroyed the front end. This thing...

    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

I would simply source another 4.4 and be done with any additional hassle. It is what it is. Btw I don't think I could muster my LR4 to do a 6.4 sec 0-60mph lol. I recon that result was a bit optimistic. Most testers were getting 6.9 secs.

    Frustrated LR owner

I would take the vent louvers out of the dash; If they are like the LR4 they simply pull straight off, then set the air distribution to blow from the front facing vents, then get a powerful shop vac insert the pipe into the vent and block each successive vent while letting the vac do its job...

Front of the engine oil leak

The seal part # is LR012685 - about $13.00 online No I didn't drain the oil, I just let it leak out of the housing until it stopped, but I did measure how much came out. I put about 2 quarts back in after completion.

Front of the engine oil leak

I tried the bolts tightening trick, alas no luck, so I ordered a new seal, re-installed and all is ok. Btw that FoMoCo part has now been superseded with a new one (LR082226) I did order this but I'll wait to install. Let's see how the old one fairs up.

Front of the engine oil leak

Well, what do you FK-ing know. Look what I discovered when trying to trouble shoot my steering issue. I must have jinxed myself looking at this thread. On another note IE steering issue the prob appears to be the steering shaft because half a can of WD-40 has fixed the notchy issue temporarily:

    Brake Pads

I forgot to add, when I replaced my brake pads, the rears exhibited significantly more wear than the front. In fact it was the rear sensor that set-off the warning light. The fronts had about 5mm of pad left, and both rears about 1mm. Is this a typical occurrence? I'm sure the rears being half...

    Waxoyl treatment for LR4?

Absolutely worth doing. Coming from the UK its considered a must in most parts. To do a good job it requires a fair bit of prep work; cleaning and degreasing, and having the attachments it get right in the hidden weld areas that collect water.

    Steering issue

Once the polar vortex is out of the way I'll be doing these checks. Too bloody cold outside right now. The PS fluid was good level was OK. Didn't check for metal though.

    Steering issue

Yeah everything was fine. No problems doing the pads, normal driving before their replacement and afterwards. I'm going to get it on stands this weekend pull the radiator skid and both splash covers and take a look. Thank god the brakes are working ok otherwise Dunkin Donuts would have lost...

    Steering issue

So I just recently finished replacing brake pads on the LR4 and all looked good. To this morning -drive into DD this morning for coffee, come back out, hop in, go to drive off and nearly take out the road sign LOL. Steering is suddenly really hard to turn through 90 degrees, then easy, very...

2012 LR4 with Early AMK Compressor Failure

I haven't seen one for the AMK, but I did buy one for my Hitachi to try. It contained new desiccant, filters, piston ring, sleeve etc. After dismantling the Hitachi, it actually looked good on the inside with minimal wear. The desiccant beads were a different color. Ultimately the rebuild kit...
