    Oil Level Indicator

EDIT: See below, this video is probably wrong. This video suggests if its exactly at the middle, its 2 quarts below max. I'd be careful and throw in one quart and see how the display changes.

    2012 V8 vs 2016 V6

Curious about your thoughts on the mechanism.... I would think high temperatures would break down plastic, thus the part fails especially where it mates up with the block and has the highest heat transfer. You are thinking metals leech into the coolant which then attack the plastic?

    Please Help

I guess the real test would be to set your clock a couple hours behind and see if this has any effect.

Anyone get parts from Suburban Auto Parts?

Looks like these guys (www.suburbanautoparts.com) have slightly better prices than most of the online Land Rover parts places. Anyone have any positive or negative experiences to share? Thanks!

    Please Help

Perhaps the battery in the FOB is near-dead and the time-effect is temperature related. Slide off the silver cover, and pry the two halves apart using the key blade to get inside. When you change it, I'd also clean the gold contacts with a pencil eraser to make sure there's no gunk preventing...

    LR4 snorkel ???

If it is a "4.4L Discovery" it is probably an LR3. Note the black wheel arches (not body colored as in the LR4), and the oval-shaped turn signal on the body.

P0030-00 (68) Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Supposedly, LR is now providing a 120K mile warranty on o2 sensors on LR4 2013-2016. https://landroverforums.com/forum/new-discovery-v-51/o2-sensors-extended-warranty-105344/

    2012 V8 vs 2016 V6

I have a 2012 and have a coworker with a 2016. The lag is super noticeable if you drive them back to back. Obviously, there's the torque difference off idle, but I almost wonder if a good part of it is throttle tuning on the V6 that could be improved with remapping.

    Normal or chain noise?

Good question, I will have to compare. I was under the impression the problem is most noticeable after a cold start...

    Shaking and clunking

My money is on front control arm bushings based mostly on the clunk.

    Normal or chain noise?

yeah, I get it. I just have a number of trips planned this summer and don’t want to end up with a car full of people in a car that doesn’t run....

LR4 Xenon Headlight Facelift (DRL Issue using GAP)

Did that include the ballasts and bulbs?

    Normal or chain noise?

Seeing more and more people getting chains done. I have a 2012 with 80K, and just inside the supposedly affected range, so I'm thinking I should start keeping an eye on it. For those of you that have had the problem, I was hoping you could spare a minute and let me know if you think these are...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

LR038618 seems to be the ECU part number that comes back for both v6sc and v8sc rovers... Presumably, the firmware is different across different models -- I can't imagine its just a CCF change?

    Corroded backup camera harness ??

I had this happen and it ended up being a short in the front parking sensor harness. Even though it was just the parking sensor bit, it still disables the camera.

    Defender 130 an LR4 replacement?

Yeah, that's a house in a significant part of the country.

    Defender 130 an LR4 replacement?

Packaging is quite amazing. Can throw bikes in upright without dropping the seat and there's enough room to sleep inside. Haven't found anything else that can do it.

    Why not a Land Cruiser?

HD Package or not HD Package, how to know for sure using TOPIx

Great info on the D5! This is all-terrain progress control -- I didn't realize this is the sign the car has the rear diff as well... The button is like a speedo graphic with the car driving over bumps, right?

HD Package or not HD Package, how to know for sure using TOPIx

vindecoderz will still work on 2010-2013 (at least it did a week or two ago) Topix now requires an active subscription to see "Minor features" where the diff type is shown.

V8 owners try this and let me know: sand mode

Another interesting thing — it seems like sand mode increases the lock ratio on the viscous fan. A little better AC performance when it’s triple digits and you’re creeping along in traffic.

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

I'm curious -- is the replacement pulley damped as well ?
  24. N

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

The pulley seems a bit extra (of course, you're probably not spending much time over 6000 rpm), but remember that the 3.0SC has been used in 380 HP trim by Jaguar for years... Edit: Ignore my concern about overspeed, per Fuji, above...

2014 pre-wired for ACC? (Anyone remove their bumper)

On the disco 3 forums, there's a guy with a MY2014, assigned a 2015 VIN, built on the 37th day (not a typo) of March, 2014. So they're unique with a lot of things.
