installing backup camera from garmin
So, i got the Garmin GPS which comes with wireless backup camera. this weekend we installed the camera itself, but didn't mount the GPS in the dash yet. (The gps unit is a tiny bit bigger then the opening in the center dash, so we'll need to come up with a better way to mount it one of these... -

That Kenwood looks good, but it looks like it requires quite a few additional mods for it to work properly. i think i'll try to give that garmin unit a shot, but i need to figure out if it'll fit in the dash first. it shows as 7.4"W x 4.5"H x .9"D (18.7 x 11.4 x 2.3 cm). will measure the... -

I do have a couple of Garmin units just sitting around. One fits well, the other is a smaller one, so not as good. i'll have to double check to see if either one has bluetooth (car didn't come with it) and see if it performs well. if it does, then i'll probably figure out a way to mount it for... -

Thank you for simple explanation. When I tried researching this, the results were mixed and I didn't get a clear picture of what's envolved. Looks like "factory" is not a good option. I'll have to dig around to see if there are any other solutions. Thank you again. -
