Do all LR dealerships provide a loaner vehicle when doing warranty repairs?

My dealer let me drive a new 3 series BMW every time my LR4 was in the shop. They had Land Rover, BMW, Jaguar and Mini as the in house brands. I think the entire loaner fleet was BMWs. Rob

Range 19" OEM rims fit LR4?

Hi, There shouldn't be an issue using the 19" RR wheels on your LR4. Now, if you were talking an 18" wheel, we would have issues. Driving on a non matching wheel is not a big deal. Even driving on a non-matching tire isn't that big of a deal as long as the outside diameter is the same as...

Show off your LR4 Part 2

Thanks for the additional links. I have been reading traildamage.com for months looking at the trails and ratings. It's hard for me to adapt to a 1-10 scale. I spent some time growing up in Moab; the scale there is 1-4. I will certainly spend some time reading the books once I acquire them. Rob

    Ac Failure

I can only offer empathy for the wife/life unhappieness. It's where I'm at most days. No issues with my LR4 HVAC system. Rob

Show off your LR4 Part 2

Hi, The LR4 looks great. Where is that picture taken? My brother and I are going out to Colorado this fall to do some wheeling with three of our cousins. I've been looking at all sorts of trails near and west of Denver. There are a lot of one I have been dreaming of being on above the...

    30,000 mile service cost

When I bought my LR4 in 2010, I asked about the projected service costs for the first 4 years. I was quoted at the time $225 for the second service and about $500 for the third service. I'm sure this is a dealer regulated cost, as I hear one dealer in CO pays for your services for the first 4...

My LR4 is gone, the dream is dead

Thank you. This is one of the reasons I bought the little Suzuki. I hear they are tough as nails offrroad. It may not have the awesome air suspension and articulation of my LR4, but it has just as much ground clearance, Better approach, departure and ramp over angles. With the tires, I'm...

My LR4 is gone, the dream is dead

This is sure an interesting change in this thread. One I wasn't really expecting. I'm sure glad it's happening though. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the "Bulldog". It's my new ride. With a face that only a mother could love, a wide stance and short overhangs, it's aggresiveness in a...

Discovery 4 pictures with a hitch hauler

That looks like a pretty slick set up. One thing I noticed when I had my LR4 loaded, was the fact it never felt loaded. I had 7 adults in my LR4 with luggage for 2 weeks on a hitch mounted carrier and things pile high in the rear cargo arrea. It felt just like any other time I was driving...

    First Service Lesson Learned

I would also vote for Bosch. I have been using them since the late 80s and have never been dissapointed with thier performance. That seems like about $100 too much for the blade replacement. The best Bosch blades will set you back less than $60 for all three. Rob

    Snorkel

Hi, Both sides are functional air intakes, so unless there is some type of tube to connect one to the other, I would say you would need two snorkles to make it work. I'm not sure why they made two intakes. I'm sure there was a question of symetry on teh outside, but my guess would be the...

    Broke my glass roof

Guys, I'm not trying to start any issues here, but I would never have been on the roof and expected the glass to support me. Even if it weren't glass, I would never stand on the sheet metal of a vehicles roof either. I may be overly cautious, but that just seemed like common sense to me...

    Broke my glass roof

I've only heard of one other guy getting his roof replaced. I think his instance was from the dealer installing the roof rails and the glass cracked. I'm not sure I would have been brave enough to ever put anything on the glass itself, especially me! You said you have been on the glass...

My LR4 is gone, the dream is dead

Thanks. Yeah, I know it is just a vehicle and I can deal with the loss. My family is way a head of any possesion I might have. The funny thing is, none of them are happy about the loss of the LR4. I've had the GV for almost a month now, and my wife and two of my kids have rode in it once...

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Thanks Captain. I really thought I might get a LR3 or LR2 for a loaner, so I was surprised when I got a 2011 330 XI for a loaner each and every time. A LR4 would have been awesome. Complexity will certainly be an issue for every brand moving forward. I'm surprised they haven't bought it back...

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Dang, that's sad to hear that it didn't get fixed the first time. Hopefully they are able to resolve it quickly. I will say that each time my LR4 went to the shop, I had a new BMW to drive as a loaner. They always offered to pick up and drop off each time. What do you get as a loaner? Rob

My LR4 is gone, the dream is dead

I knew that was going to get asked. I'm the proud owner of a new, 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara Limited 4x4. I researched all of my options and there was only one that checked most of my boxes. Inexpensive, key less start, leather heated seats, auto climate control, low range, real ladder...
