This is one of my biggest complaints with basically all new cars. +400$$$$ for a *&*% key is absolutely absurd.
On my keys, my battery eventually broke the soldered contact to the board, I bought a$15 replacement, swapped out the board and key, and soldered the battery back on.
I have a big issue with the key (LR3), my battery became loose both keys. It detached for the board (broken soldered connection). Now this is a crap design to begin with, first of the battery is soldered to the board and not replaceable, that is just stupid. Next the replacement for$250-$300...
Finlayforprez your 265/65R18 BF Goodrich A/T KO tires, any issues, do they rub and can you fit one underneath in the spare spot? I have 265/60 R18s...wanted to go a bit bigger this time around without going to big to get one underneath.
Yes, it really is about range for those of us who do overland, and the torque for off-roading. The days of the tractor diesel where gone quite some time ago. My last long trip was from Las Vegas to Hyder Alaska, we did a 5500 mile loop, fill-ups became an issue near Hyder and Northern British...
Just a side note baja racers went desiel, less stops. In Las Vegas on drag night at the track I saw a twin turbo desiel full cab 4wheel drive nearly beat a ZR1 corvette. 116 mpg 12 sec quarter mile.
I was reading this thread and I saw that someone paid 1100 bucks to have there breaks done...CAN I DO THEM FOR YOU, LOL. Holy shit if the rotors are good it would be no more that $580 to have someone do them. If you need all new rotors around $900ish. You can go buy EBC slotted and dimpled...
There is a wrangler 265/60 R18, I use on mine, the (full size) spare still fits under the truck. I think any larger and you can't carry it underneath. ie I never use the little spare. I also add the TPS (tire pressure sensor) to the spare.
So that one is for the LR3? I keep asking dealerships and people on the Forum and get different numbers and types. That's why I said hell with it and got the stick on version that heats the oil pan. FYI it will get down to -40 actual temperature here, very hard on the engine cold starting it...
Yes Ford wisely unloaded it in 08 and did not take a bail out like the rest of the motor companies did, I absolutely commend them for that. Ford turned around Land Rover and made vast improvements. Then Tata comes along and markets the Evoque with a Spice girl. Of all my acquaintances who have...
Also there is an A-pillar water leak issue. I ripped mine off and filled every damn hole with silicon, fixed it. Hell with that factory fix. The black A-pillar cover also has crap plastic push in contactors, one of my A-pillar cover almost blew completely off in a high cross wind. Sealing it...
This is what the skinny jean designers don't get. People tow sh-t with there trucks. I can't stand the front and rear bumper design on the LRs, the plastic is driving me nuts. I love the hitch!!! I can't stand that factory hitch.
Radio no sound
Same issue here, it did it a couple times 2 years ago and has not come back since. I disconnected the battery and it popped back on for no real reason. Ghosts in the electronics. FYI it maybe a water leak issue, LRs are notorious for leaking water behind the dash from anything...
