    squealing while idling

I did not know the bearing could be replaced. Is there a part number? Others have complained of having to purchase the entire arm for over several hundred.

    Exhaust Question

You maybe cheap joey but at least if the pipe is going all the way out the back of the vehicle you are not ruining any of the parts with gases. I've seen too many rovers and other vehicles without a resonator or straight pipe out the very back. One in particular wasted the gas tank crusty...

    Exhaust Question

Sure to the start of ruining a lot of components by removing your resonator. Hot gases blowing by the axle, gas tank, and other parts prematurley oxidizing all the metal of these components. You're not driving a harley motorcylce. it's a truck so why ruin it if it's quite ? If your trying...

    Exhaust Question

Ps meant lifters not litters dam iPod changes words with the silly word check. Maybe I'll pull the resonator off of it. Jeeeeees!!!!!!!

    Lucas sythetic brake fluid

Another thing disco mike: after reading the articles that joey so graciously submitted two things come to mind. Number one brake fluid must be changed more as a product of time than mileage to a degree given that it dependent on humidity as a factor. Secondly the articles state that one...

    Coolant smell under the hood

Agree with mike, joey and anyone else that says you shoulnt use any sort of leak fix material. Just cause dad sold it doesn't make it right as he sold it as a temp fix to over the road truckers that needed a quick fix in a pinch. As noted on my previous reply I had no intentions of using it.

    Security system

Mike: 95 d1. Sure would like to disable it or fix the very expensive solenoids. I wonder if the mechanisms are the actual trouble and not the solenoids , probabley wishfull thinking.

    Lucas sythetic brake fluid

Ok disc mike: so how often do you change your synthetic brake fluid? I used castrol synthec in my spitfire and it sure looked like it picked up moisture to me after a year. It was gross. Mind you this was many years ago maybe there has been major advancements made but the castrol I just put...

    Coolant smell under the hood

Must be lucky. My 95 will use about half the resevoir a day. If I leave it alone it goes down no further than this. Valley pan next to firewall is the obvious culprit for me. Temp never goes up. Had it flushed two years ago. Gonna get it flushed this fall. Gonna put a new resevoir in as...

    Knocking sound when speening up.

Joey: don't you think it would only knock whilst letting of the gas and then reaccelaratting unless it's really worn and vibrating the vehicle? Maybe a rod knocking?

    Knocking sound when speening up.

So at 40f approx 7celsius it is still knocking?

    Knocking sound when speening up.

Is it still knocking down in lower warmer weather?

    Which Discovery to consider?

Buy a short wheel base like my 95 and put your own lockers in it and give me your cruise ecu or for that matter 95-98 ecu. Got all the power I need in my 95 you should be able to find one really cheap Kelly blue book is like $4700 lot perfect no rust no fluid leaks. They all leak so I figure...

    Knocking sound when speening up.

Are you sure it isn't ice build up on the universal joints like once happened to me? I got under my truck and noticed that the shafts and joint had about three inches of ice stuck to them and were hammering the dog house.

    Wheel bearing wonder

Thanks again for the part number Tom, I'll get four of them ordered.

    Security system

Thanks joey. That's what I'm afraid of is issues. One time I pushed my remote to lock it and one of the actuators didn't go down. Tried to get back in and the alarm went off. Put key in driver door and turned it to the left for five seconds still had issues. That was several years ago...

    Security system

Haven't been using my security system for a long time because of the silly door solenoids. They don't always go down. Till I go to work on freeing the mechanism or replace the solenoids is their a way to disable the alarm in the event I accidently trigger the alarm? Dad used to say locks are...

    Wheel bearing wonder

Silly question. Where would I buy a double lip seal? Makes good sense as I do a bit of wading to get to my favorite rocks. So far by the way I have had no leaks in 400 miles since I replaced the seals. Want to buy these seals so I can pull the hubs apart in a couple months to reinspect...

    1998 window problems

Ps: FYI doubt the trouble is a grounding issue because joey usually knows but the ecu ground is behind the right fooltwell cover if it is like my 95. Ground e200 also grounds the dang cruise ecu that I'm having trouble with.

    Cruise cntrl rebuild

Followed manual fusesible link from pins 1 and ten. Fusesible link to 6 and grnd and one from 7 to grnd. Pump operates and actuator retracts. Just went out and tried your method and squeezed it thumb over hose stays retracted. Now I'm gonna resolder the ecu doubt it works even though someone...

    Cruise cntrl rebuild

Well here I go. Rechecked all troubleshooting suggestions in my electrical manual everything ok points to the ecu. Going to remove the epoxy and resolder as suggested in the forum. Hope it works. Roverland has one in stock for $60 hope if I need it they still have it and works better than...

    Wheel bearing wonder

The inner seal or as they call it the constant velocity shaft seal defenitely has to be leaking. I'm just hoping the grease keeps it at bay for awhile. Thinking about giving up on the 80/90 in the swivel housings anyway just somewhat afraid of heat buildup. Still cannot get over the right...
