How to break into an LR3
That link does not work for me. Any suggestions? I'll be in Avon in October. House is at north end. I'm 76 and too old to do the kite thing on the water, but I fly a big parafoil on the beach for exercise. We sure enjoy watching you youngsters! ChuckD -

Heated windshield retro-fit
My '01 Disco II had the wiring installed even though it did not have the heated glass. Same went for the heated seats. Don't think the LR3 is made that way as I have seen no extra connectors in the windscreen area. ChuckD -
Seeking advice - LR3 Spare Tire
When I took off the OEM Good-for-a-Years I put the best of them on a used 18" wheel I got through my dealer and put it underneath to replace the skinny temp one. Fits fine and will get me home if needed. ChuckD -

Doh! Stuck in the sand again...
I use the command shift and start off in second or third gear (4-Lo) to avoid spinning the wheels from too much torque. We'll be at Hatteras early in October!! Can't wait!! ChuckD -

Using Terrain Response to Improve Gas Mileage
I get a couple MPG improvement just by using the Command Shift mode, stating in second gear and "featherfooting" the throttle when possible. I shift up at about 2,200 RPM. ChuckD -
Electric Brake control, and towing
A Prodigy controller works great. Just get the Ford adapter cable. It plugs into an existing trailer plug that is clipped up under the dash by the steering column. You'll also need the trailer wiring harness, which is easily installed in the rear of the truck. Check around the usual vendors... -

We're lucky to have a Mini Cooper for most of our running around (36mpg). I do find it hard to walk past the LR3, though. I started using manual shifting to extend mileage with good results. Last reading is 19.6mpg over about 400 miles, with average speed of 46mph. We drive mostly on North... -

We air down to 20 pounds and I use the "Sand" setting, low range and command shift to start out in 3rd gear to avoid too much wheelspin. Works like a charm. ChuckD -
