    Some codes to decipher

Friend of mine had the map sensor code and ended up having to clean the throttle body. All the lost connection codes seem like it could be either a low battery or if you’ve disconnected the battery recently and it messed with the config

    Lr4 misfire on all cylinders

That does not sound like a healthy motor. It sounds like at least one cylinder is down on compression while cranking. Also poor idle while running ok at higher rpms points to this and/or the suspected cam timing being off. I would do a compression test if possible to see if you have a valve...

    Refuses to start

It should flash/beep to confirm that it’s still locked when you close the back after opening via smart key and then closing. Might be a candidate for a hard reset to try and fix the problem.

    Lower center console removal?

Thanks, it felt like there was something still attached around the cooler box. Good to know the procedure to get the console out is basically the same.

    Low coolant. No leak?

I had a similar issue recently, always seemed like i was smelling a coolant leak with the truck running but the coolant level never moved. then it would drop by a 1/4 or 1/2" when hot now and then but i could also drive 6 hours and have it not budge. had my indy mechanic take a look when he...

How to find out which tpms?

I know the earlier models were 315mhz and later models 433mhz but I have also seen somewhere that my14 was a transition year so some could be 315 and some could be 433

How to find out which tpms?

Is there any way to find out which system my car has without looking at the sensors? Working on switching to 18” lr3 10-spokes and would like to know so I can order for the new wheels.

    Cloud of Smoke

Could be blow by pushing oil into the intake via the pcv system. Check the intake tract for oil residue.

Click and “Puff” Noise on Engine Shutdown

Mine makes the same noise, and I also had the headlight lost communication code, however my adaptive headlights work fine and I didn’t have it the previous time I scanned for codes so I figured it was just a random code. when I shut the truck off and get out it usually makes a few self...

2016 LR4 warn winch control side issues

So the controller isn't working or is the solenoid not working? It's a very simple setup, the controller just takes positive power and sends it to the in or out solenoid to run the winch. Also the winch is probably still under warranty from warn so you shouldn't need to buy parts.

    Transmission Fault on the freeway

Wonder if something like the sonnax zip kit could fix this issue? also - sounds like you’re in north Houston, I’m in the heights area. Are you a member of Houston Land Rover club?

    Supercharger Rattle?

with the 8 speed, first gear is a 4.7:1 ratio vs the 6 speed's 4.17 ratio, so with the axle ratio and low range being the same, is the equivalent of a 4:1 axle ratio instead of the 3.54. Not exactly 4.56s, but its not nothing.

    Supercharger Rattle?

the gearing on the scv6 in 1st and 2nd is so low I doubt it would be needed unless you managed to wedge 35s under it. Mine feels plenty low even in hi range, low range is silly low especially since the low range is nearly 3:1 but then again I haven’t done much crawling with it yet.

    Supercharger Rattle?

I might actually take you up on that, might be in LA in June for a weekend.

    Restricted operation with Engine knock

Codes have to do with a discrepancy between the cam and crank timing sensors. If you are hearing a loud knocking or rattling while running then it’s probably the timing tensioners and possibly to the point where it’s skipped timing. How long have you been going between oil changes?

    Supercharger Rattle?

sorry to hijack but what's the transmission zip kit? I'm going to be doing the supercharger coupler sometime soon and am planning on going to the smaller pulley when I buy the rebuilt snout. back on topic: do you need to set the gap on the bypass valve when changing out the snout? I would...

Alternative to Dealer Only Castrol Professional "E" for 2014-16 LR4's

I just did the first change since buying on my 2014, and was able to find Motul JLR 51.5122 specific oil on amazon. And for 9.98 per Liter and free shipping it was the cheapest I've found. https://www.amazon.com/Motul-107304-SPECIFIC-SYNTHETIC-ENGINE/dp/B079H4RYB1/

    Land Rover Lettering Replacements

I was thinking of reaching out to a company that makes things like these out of carbon fiber. They mostly do toyotas and ford raptor/f150 but if there is enough interest in getting the letters redone in a real carbon fiber maybe they would produce some sets. Anyone interested?

Alternative to Dealer Only Castrol Professional "E" for 2014-16 LR4's

Ok now I’m thoroughly confused. It looks like my 2014 scv6 is specced 5w20 and the 2015-16 scv6 requires the 0w20 of the newer spec. Should I stick with the 5w20 or get the newer stuff? Found motul JLR specific that meets the STJLR.51.5122 spec in 0w20. I have a feeling this was primarily done...

    Supercharger Rattle?

bypass stuck fully closed or fully open would cause problems. I thought there were oil fills front and rear on these since they have gears and bearing at both ends?

    Two issues with my LR4

the brake pedal is either a leaking check valve on the vacuum booster(servo), or a leak within the booster itself. These trucks have a vacuum pump on the front of the motor, so check the vacuum lines from there to the booster as well, but there is a big check valve right on the booster usually...
