    Faded exterior trim

That's cool!. I wasn't sure if it lasted that long. I will try that one out once the Turtle Wax washes off... Easy to apply?

    Faded exterior trim

I had pretty bad trims on my LR3. Faded and white. The best one I had luck with is Turtle Wax Trim Restorer. Best way to apply is after clean wash. Then clean your trims with 50/50 water alcohol spray. Wipe dry and then apply. In my case I did two coats 30 minutes apart on a sunny day. After...

LR3 DIY Folks in Seattle Area?

As an idea I was thinking we should meet once a month or something like that and bring our projects and work on them collectively in some garage. Talk rovers and create some sort of knowledge base for LR enthusiasts. I have already captured some data from several areas and creating a web...

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

I actually don't know the answer to how it gets there, but apparently it makes its way there somehow. The severely damaged battery on the negative terminal when removed showed signs of white powdery residue all the way to its base and surroundings and who knows where else? My understanding is...

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

Resolved And the VERDICT: The car is back. And the biggest culprit was Transfer case ECU. All systems go after that was replaced and re-programmed. And yes you have guessed it, the cause was the negative battery terminal corrosion that damaged the area and the TBox ECU. There were couple...

Good to know... What battery did you end up getting?

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

I was told that the car will be ready today. Will post details on work done on it and costs involved. Stay tuned...

    Another Battery Question

Not sure about the symptom, there are a lot of theories about that right now. But one thing for sure is that it can be a cause for future problem(s). Best way to avoid those is to keep an eye on it and clean it periodically and make sure no spills occur behind or under the battery. The adjacent...

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

Biggs Eastside Automotive (Bellevue) - They specialize in Land Rovers, came highly recommended. Tomorrow is the D-Day for me, either its done or its out of there. Will see. Have you used them before?

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

As of today the car has been in shop for 10 days. The Indy Experts are onto the second part and running codes. Not sure what could be so hard to figure and fix that damn thing by now? Anyway thats the update so far. Quick facts: Days car owned: 35 Days car in shop: 12 Days car in my posession...

Thinking of installing Yaesu FT-2900R Radio

Thank you duckdive for taking the time to snap pictures. Looks like a great setup you have going on. This gives me a good idea on how to do mine. Thanks again :)

Thinking of installing Yaesu FT-2900R Radio

Thanks duckdive! What kind of radio do you have? Are there any pics for your install? Did you have to drill a hole for antenna or were able to work with something existing? I am assuming at the bottom is your Call Sign?

Thinking of installing Yaesu FT-2900R Radio

I have been thinking of installing a Yaesu FT-2900R in my LR3 so that I can communicate with the trail groups etc. Is that a good idea/radio to work with? Has anyone installed it before? I was thinking of putting in the mid console where NAV is supposed-to be, Since I have SE model, that spot...

What is this hollow tube? (Image Attached)

At the moment I am not sure what causes it. @tlt recommends using baking soda and wipe the base. Replace the corroded cable. Clean the battery point (sand paper?). Maybe he can chime in? Is there a wiki for this comon problem? If not then there should be one.

    Another Battery Question

This is the one I had in the car, replaced with the same: MTP-49/H8. Right after I replaced the battery we encountered snow storm of the decade in Seattle last month. With below freezing temperatures, ice sheets on the car for almost a week, starting my LR3 was a breeze. No problems. Actually...

    Another Battery Question

Also check for corroded negative terminal. It appears to be common in LR3's. Whoever replaces the battery should look for leakage and clean and neutralize it under and behind the battery. And make sure the drain tube gets connected to the battery also. It should be around the battery running...

    Another Battery Question

How old is your battery? If it's over 5 years (in some cases 3 years) it's a good idea to get it replaced anyways. Weak batteries can cause a lot of error codes over time... As a preventive measure, check all your brake bulbs and replace them with LR specific ones, also get the brake light...

What is this hollow tube? (Image Attached)

Where is the 4x4 control unit? Is it the same as Terrain Response Unit or something else?

    It has finally happened!

So the moral of the story is that "it actually hasn't happened yet" or may never will unless for a good reason : rodents Glad all worked out for you without huge bill :)

How big is the LR3 Offroad community?

Yep! I purposely display dirty and muddy LR3 in my driveway for all shiny SUV owners in my neighborhood to see :hello: I do wash the under where it matters

What is this hollow tube? (Image Attached)

Wow! I see a pattern here. @roverman, what did you have to replace? An actuator or ECU? Thanks.

What is this hollow tube? (Image Attached)

This is really interesting! The Terrain Response is not responding or working, also Low Range won't work either. The indy dealer says it's the actuator or something. Haven't gotten it fixed yet. BTW this is a brand new battery that I installed not long ago. The replaced one was seriously...

    Transmission Range Change Not Available

UPDATE: As of now the local Land Rover experts ran codes (I haven't seen them) and mentioned that there is a problem with the actuator that triggers the Terrain Response System. They didn't mention blackened stoplight sensor or ECU problem so far - stuff that I expected to be the culprits. At...
