    According to the Press Release yo are correct about the TFT. The phonebook capacity for the Discovery 4 has increased significantly for 2012 from 700 entries to several thousand, whilst the TFT Message Centre interface has been redesigned to display audio, phone and navigational information.

    I posted in another thread that I ended up turning HD Radio off as the system would lock up or give off high bursts of static. No problems since I stopped using HD radio.

    It seems the heater wires bother passengers more than me. My eyes are focused further down the road and I seldom notice them.

    2011 landrover lr4 gas milage?

    I have about 7500 miles on my '11 and the range for a full tank runs from about 300-325 miles. My driving includes mostly highway or roads with limited stops. I average a little over 16mpg.

    NEW - What to look for?

    I recently did exactly as you posted. I took my '11 LR4 in for an oil change at about 7500 miles and they reminded me that my first service was free. I told them I would pay for the oil change and save the free service for 15k. Jim

    OEM rubber floor mats

    My only issue with the OEM mats is that some of the black is transferring to the vinyl below. I have a feeling that the exhaust problems passes right beneath the drivers feet and the heat is the culprit.

    I have noticed my '11 HSE LUX do some leveling while in a drive thru line or at an ATM machine. Does back to normal when you start driving again.

    I am not sure of the build date but I purchased the vehicle on the 15th of September and it had been at the dealership at least two weeks prior. Yes my vehicle has the rear back-up camera and it also has the voice command feature which was subsequently eliminated. Jim

    I have an early '11 LR4 and the button to turn on or off the parking sensors is located on the right side of the center stack below the NAV screen. I use if all the time when pulling into the garage or when I wasn't to turn of the sensors. Jim

    Snow mode

    Under normal circumstances you are not supposed to pump the pedal when you have anti-lock brakes. That actually increases stopping distances. That said since you were on a downhill grade that may change what the proper actions should have been. Glad it all worked out for you.

    Snow mode

    Yesterday I had forgotten that I had put my LR4 into snow mode over the weekend and was caught off guard when trying to merge into freeway traffic and the normal "jump" from 45 to 70 was not there. All was well when I dropped it back to normal.

    2011 LR4 Voice Controls

    Early 2011's had them because my LR4 does have it. I did use the voice control for dialing the CTS I had before the Land Rover. The GM commands seemed more intuitive than those for Land Rover.

    floor mats

    I ended up buying the black ones they sell in the Parts Dept. after looking around and finding nothing else. I was hoping that MacNeil would have some in tan but they do not make anything for the LR4.

    I have run into this problem a couple of times and when I turned off the HD it disappeared. If I turned the HD back on after a few hours the issue would disappear. lately I just leave the HD off, not work it anyhow. Jim

    Rear middle seat stuck down anyone?

    Make sure you do not pull the seat belt all the way out then let it retract all the way back to the seat-back as you are folding it. That is how you lock a belt in place around a child but with a child you usually still have some free play. You will not have this free play if you let it retract...

    I was told that you must use the special cable and connection. The USB port will not work.

    Are you using the right cable? I think you "must" use the Land Rover cord they sell that fits the special socket, not the USB fitting.

    I wish I had known I needed the vision package when I selected mine. i miss folding mirrors that I have had on my last six vehicles or so.

    2011 LR4 Voice Controls

    The only thing I have tried is using the phone with voice activation and that works. Just have had mine 3 weeks. My does have the voice logo on Black Bottom button. Smart move on the Visson assist. Did that give you folding mirrors?
