Your temp sensor won’t read anything if there is no coolant in the system. Someone in the LR4 forum just reported how they drove their car without coolant and didn’t realize it because the temp gage was reading normal. Ran low on coolant - hose came loose. What issues could engine have now? 2011 LR4
Unless you just changed your water pump or radiator, your hose clamps are fine. This is a good cautionary tale for anyone doing their own repairs, though.- NorthwestDriver

Coolant Levels Dropping Slowly - No Visible Leaks
Sounds like you were working air out of the block, hoses, and radiator each time you took a drive.
