Drivers window only moves 2"?
Made my own wheels out of with solid poly tubing pick up at fastenal. I cheated and used a CNC Lathe. But anyone can use a simple Dremil and do the same job. Bought the unit buy the foot I beleive I paid $5.00. -
Losing oil - burning smell
well you do have a oil leak some where if you lose a quart of oil and you experience a burning smell. The burning smell is probably your oil burning on your exhaust manifolds. When did you notice the lack of oil. How long in between checks? you probably have a small oil leak with no evidence... -
hi, new guy here.
the price is pretty accurate for a rebuilt. When you mention Landrover or any forein car to a regular mech they normal seize up but the Rovers aren't that hard to work on. you have to remind them that it is a normal engine.- 97rover

Fuel Filter
depressurized by fuel rail and cup. Replaced my fuel filter by only removing old filter and putting new one on. There is a tire pressure valve push it in and release the pressure. Make sure engine is cool before you do it and try not to spill the gas on the exhaust manifold. That is where the... -

Move the sterring wheel hard right hold it there and try and turn the key don't force the key to where you brake it. Make sure your foot brake is pressed down. If that does't work do the same to the left and hold the sterring wheel in place while you try and turn the key. -

Open the hood and see if there is anything blocking your sterring rod that goes to your power sterring pump. There are a couple of u-joints see if there is any binding. Have a second person wiggle the sterring wheel while you stand out and look under the hood. Can you turn the key to the on... -

oil filler
On both of my 97 Rovers this is a issue. 97 Diso 1 se 7 and 97 Range Rover se. What I did is put thread lock on the part that screws into the valve cover and anti-seize on the actual cap. This has helped out alot. I thought I was over tightening it then I left it loose still had the problem... -
Fault Code Display Location?
Do you mean the OBD computer code hook up. Where I found mine on a 97 Range Rover is under the Glove box on the passanger side next to the trany hub. Plugs
you don't need a torque wrench. But don't over tighten or cross thread. Put your plug in easy. After you tighten all the way buy hand if you can or make sure it is all the way in. Give it only a 1\16 of a turn with the wrench just to snug it up. not much just a 1\16. -

New Disco...Some Issues
low on radiator fluid. Mine did the same thing before I replaced the radiator. The radiator was bad on my old Range Rover Classic. Had a hole and the stems were pluged. That is why my anti freeze was continually going low. -
wires and plugs
Just regular champ plugs and heavy duty wires I beleive were bosch. Good old Napa. Did a tune up last year. Time to do another. Nothing real exciting or expensive but it does the job just FINE.
