Suggestions for economical running boards for my LR3

That sounds incredibly expensive. The one side I put on took less than 20 minutes with me laying on the ground.

Suggestions for economical running boards for my LR3

I got my ebay nerf tubes yesterday. The tubes are a nice strength for steps and the brackets are very stout. The front brackets use one of the body mounting bolts that are on the truck now, but the bolts that it comes with are a bit smaller than I would like.. I got the driver's side...

They don't show the mounting brackets... I'll see where they need to be beefed up when they get here early next week.

    After market GPS ideas

Here is what I did.. The mount on the left holds a Garmin hiking GPS for speed, location (latt and long), bread crumb functionality, and a trip odometer/average speed. The mount on the right is for my phone, which gives me all the navigation options I could want. I no longer have to...

Suggestions for economical running boards for my LR3

Thanks for the link, I've been thinking about getting something like this to help the kids get in and out of the Rover for a while... I don't really need sliders, as I don't do that much offroading, so these are a much more economical solution!

    Cruise Control

Because every other car I have ever owned has never had a 10 MPh swing on the cruise control. You start going up a slight incline and the car slows down from 70 to 65, when it hits 64, it downshifts from 6th to 5th and accelerates up the hill to 65-67 and then sits on 5th till you crest the...

    Cruise Control

Does anyone else have issues with the cruise control? My 2006 LR3 swings 5MPH above and below the set point routinely... Say you set the cruise at 70, it will go anywhere from 65 to 75 depending on terrain... And it constantly downshifts into 5th when it has to speed up from 65 back up to...

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

I have used the newer style quick release Land Rover hitch to pull 5 different trailers ranging in weight from under 1000lbs to just under 3000lbs, for over 5000 miles combined. I have complete faith in it.. On spring break this year, we completed a 2900 miles road trip in our 2006 LR3 from...

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

If you will happen to read the first reply in the this thread, I already answered the question. You were the one that stated "Also, pushing the limits is where something like I posted comes into being more useful." Which is what I responded with it sounded like you needed more truck... You...

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

Sigh.... You seem to have a reading comprehension problem. If you want to tow right at the LR3 towing limits, go for it. I will tell you that you are trying to tow too much with it..... The LR3 is a fantastic towing machine inside it's capabilities. But if you are trying to tow something at...

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

Ahh, when it comes to towing, I NEVER push the limits...... If you want to tow more, buy a truck built for it.

Tips and hacks to get the best mpg out of your LR3

The ride height lock is only for when you are going slow in a parking garage. You speed up and it raises to normal all by itself. Somewhere around 20MPH I believe, but it may be lower. No additives are recommended. In any car. Ever. ;).

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

I did a 3000 mile road trip for spring break with my family of 6 pulling a 20' popup. It only weighs 1800 pounds or so. I've been towing longer than I have been able to drive legally... I learned mostly with a 2500 Suburban and a Dodge 3500 Diesel, but have used everything from a Chrysler...

Help Towing a 23' Airstream Travel Trailer

I would just use the factory tow hitch, and get a friction brake anti-sway unit if you need it. And a brake controller.

Tips and hacks to get the best mpg out of your LR3

I'm getting 16-17 on the Highway.... 12-13 in the city. The tank I am on right now I am going to get close to 20, driving all highway, and not using the A/C at all.

The part number I posted was the same as the plugs I took out of mine, and I assume we're installed as the OEM.

    intermittent wipers and IIDTool

I wish there was a setting that would just turn the outside running lights on when the car was in gear, but alas, there isn't one that I know of. Back on topic, do you just change the configuration point for the rain sensing wipers to get normal manual control of the wipers? Also, I noticed...

    intermittent wipers and IIDTool

I would use the auto headlights if it wasn't for the "follow me home" feature... I can't tell you how many times that has turned on my headlights during the middle of the day.... I typically like to drive with my running lights on, but headlights off during the day.. When I forget to turn off...

Can the front transfer release valve block cause suspension fault?

It can definitely cause issues.. I had a broken wire feeding one of the valves in the front valve block, and would get the suspension error, and was stuck at "Normal Height only". Read the code, find out what the issues is. The blocks aren't that expensive, I purchased one before I figured out...
