    Expedition Rack

When I purchased my LR3 new in 05' I had the expedition rack installed before even picking it up. Over time I installed my Yakima towers onto the upper portion of the rack but that required a long reach for me to get my bikes off and on the rack due to the skyscraper height. Plus I put a two...

    Magnaflow Exhaust Design Concepts

I was actually thinking about what I would do when it came time for a new system. Glad to see this research in the works. When my stock setup gets ready to go I will certainly be interested in the off-road setup. Quality looks good as always. Tell the owner of the LR3 he has his spare facing...

    headlight washers fading

Within the first year of ownership the dealer replaced one headlight washer housing under warranty that had faded to a light gray. The other one took about 3 years to fade so I asked that it be replaced as they did the first. Denied because they said it was considered a wear item. Load of BS...

    Effect of cold on LR3

I spoke with the guys at Expedition Exchange about an Optima option. They apparently looked hard at what it would take to make one fit. Some dremel tool carving on the battery was necessary they said. Yikes! So they did not recommend it.

Tire size question for new LR3...

The small spare on the non HD equipped models is the same diameter as the stock tires. When you move to a different diameter tire from stock you need to have a spare with the same diameter. Not sure of the exact damage if you used a smaller diameter spare but I would not take the chance.

    Advice with off-road lighting

The company Baja Designs make some nice HID lights for all kinds of applications. http://www.bajadesigns.com They even have the HID's with the ballast inside the housing so you don't have to worry about finding a place to mount those as well. I have seen the 4" Fuego models mounted on a...

    wierd leak

I plan to re-submit this for warranty since the water intrusion into the A/C system seems to be caused by the plastic cover deforming. And I have already had the sunroof drain clog which let a few gallons of water drain into my lap and the passenger floor board. They know about the...

    the science of snatch straps

Last year while up in the NM mountains a Toyota Camry slid off the road from a recent heavy snow so I offered my assistance. I used my tow strap rather than a snatch strap. Had to wrap the strap around the front portion of the frame. Very tight fit but it beat pulling him out by the steering...

    wierd leak

I discovered another water entry point which I have not yet addressed with my dealer and could also be a potential cause for what you experienced. I was washing my LR3 and have noticed that the black plastic cover at the base of the windshield that the wipers protrude thru is fading and...

    YATT (Yet Another Tire Thread)

I run the 285 Nitto's and the only concern I ever have is if I had to strap on chains for some reason. The clearance on the inside between the sidewall and the upper control arms is next to nothing. Not sure there is even enough clearance to install the flat strap type. For sure not enough for...

    LR3 vs. Touareg

No worries. Now, if we could just figure how to shoehorn that V10 TDI from your Treg into the LR3.:proud:

    LR3 vs. Touareg

The LR3 has independent rear suspension. Not a solid or "live" axle.
