From the article that Zenphx linked:
So, whatever we are going to see at the NY auto show will likely just be a concept vehicle and will probably not be the new LR2/LR4 replacements.
The way the backs of those seats look does not make me think that they will fold completely flat.
Also, the rear window is straight across the bottom. It does not dip down with the classic shape of the Disco/LR 3/LR4.

Another article about the changes for the Freelander. It also states that a Freelander replacement is due in early 2015. It doesn't make sense to me that they would do a mid-year refresh and then launch a brand new...
Does Land Rover apply any kind of anti-rust treatment to the undercarriage at the factory? Would this be one of those rare cases where having the dealer apply undercoating would actually prevent long-term headaches and not be a ripoff?
Is the process of changing the rotors and pads pretty much the same as this video for the LR3? Discovery LR3 - Replace Front Brake Pads and Rotors - YouTube If so, it looks easy enough that I will do it myself when the time comes.
I have pretty much the same thing as you. I have the MSRP at the time of order in writing. I also negotiated a savings under MSRP that I have in writing. I did agree to pay whatever the MSRP is when the car arrives minus my "discount", so in the unlikely event that there is a price increase...
I assume that the roofline will be more continuous like the Evoque/RRS's roofline. The window area and that thicker white C pillar will probably be all black as well. Also, It looks like the front windshield will move forward more like in the line drawing. Still, it won't be the classic shape.
What epiclr4 said. They added 2 more gears to the transmission. They will be able to keep RPMs low when cruising.
EDIT: I recall being impressed during my multiple test drives at how low the RPMs were staying while driving around on normal roads.
I don't think it is a fact that they are moving away from off-road capabilities at all. The 2014 is available with a lower-speed transfer case with the HD package. And the engine is being changed to improve a woeful gas milage rating.
As for the engines, since yesterday I've done some looking...
So there are always people complaining about the engine change on the boards here. Has anyone compared how the V8 makes power vs the SCV6 makes power? Yes, the SCV6 makes less HP and torque than the V8, but it has a pretty flat torque curve making max torque from 3500-5000 RPM...
My dealer had 2 LR4s on their lot and then received a shipment of 5 more when I was looking at LR4s at the beginning of February. They were back down to 2 within 2 weeks. All the LR4s were black, white, or grey with black interior. Only one had the HD package but it had nothing else. They...
Wow. Did not see that. That does appear to be a LR4/5 sized and shaped Rover. Maybe there is something to the 2015 theory. I didn't believe it because I had not seen a test mule yet.
From those reports it looks like they've seen spy shots of the upcoming Freelander/LR2/whatever it is called and are extrapolating that to what the next LR4 will be. The next LR4 probably will be similar but larger, but since there have not been any spy shots of an LR4 sized mule then I...
A portable DVD player is something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-SDVD7027-C-7-Inch-Portable-Player/dp/B003BWAKJA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392677392&sr=8-1&keywords=portable+dvd+player
Each of our kids has a portable DVD player and they share an iPad when we are on the road. Ages...
Just get a couple portable DVD players for the kids. That's what my kids prefer. Between the DVD players and iPads they can each do/watch whatever they want.
