follow up Thanks.... and you gave very good advice I managed to go out to garage tonight and put the LR3 into off road height and turn the wheels to full lock, both directions and grease the steering stops (all four of them) and the contact points. sure enough no more noise....Yea But... -

Thanks for the replies. If you remember the next time your in access mode you can spin turn the steering wheel to the right, as if you needed to back into a parallel parking space and see if it makes an unmistakable, horrible noise and report back. I will try and stay away from full lock... -

No mud flaps, It will make the noise when tires are not rotating. I can only think it has to do with loading up the swaybar or control arm, or the steering rack gear. -

We have a 06 SE with 53,000 miles on the odometer, and I have been taking it on the trails every couple of weeks. Love it. But have had the usual issues, LCA bushings; lower steering shaft (TSB), new battery and new starter replaced. Now I was backing out of a parking spot in access height... -

Alpaca...Get it or not?
The Tourag's are nice. But look on the bright side, you won't be shocked with the Gas milleage of the LR3. If i understand it correctly the 08's and newer offered a premium leather option that was softer. We have an 06 and only the seating surfaces are "real" leather. The sides and the backs... -

Nokian Tires
I just picked up a set of the WRG2's for the LR3. The tire shop recomended them as one of the better tires for all season use. Our LR3 takes us skiing just about every weekend in the winter this was the next best thing to dedicated snows. Too bad it has not snowed in Boulder/Denver this season. -

Nav display question.
I never use the OEM navigation and find myself going to the seetings screen and turning it off especially at night Do any of you know if the display can be set to off as the default? -

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer
Sounds ABS related. My Saab had the ABS controller go out and had no speedo, abs light, brake warning light. -

Newbie considering a LR3...any advice?
We just got ours a couple of months ago and love it. If its from a LR dealer than it's most likley solid. Tires and control arm bushings are the common issues. We drove several that had clunking in the steering going over bumps and lots of uneven tire wear. I think 07 and newer allow you... -

Metal Valve Caps
I have had it happen in Colorado as well, The metal caps will sieze to the valve stem. Trashed all 4 valve stems. Love plastic caps now. -

Our 2006 gives a specific gas cap message when it was loose. Sounds like somthing more serious than a loose gas cap -

Rear Seat - Heat and AC
The R-134 port sticker under the hood indicates high and low pressure ports in the engine bay and in the rear of the vechicle so I would assume there is a second hvac system for the back seats. -

LED Brake/Tail light bulbs Comparison
I prefer the OEM bulb, It has much more light compared to the LED in your photo. -

Faded Knobs
My radio volume knob was tuning white, I removed the knob and cleaned it with vinegar and water and a terrycloth towel. The knobs are rubber coated and I think pretty much removed the top surface. -

Replaced my rear brake pads
How do the Akebono's do? I never could get used the reduced stoping power of their ceramic pads on my other car. The lack of brake dust is nice. -

TPMS threshold PSI question
Thanks guys I found a post that indicated 30psi for the fronts and 36 for the rears and the spare. I just measured 35 on my spare and filled it up to 45 which cleared the message. So my TPMS is working as designed and I need to fix a slooow leak in my spare. -

Does anyone know what the low pressure PSI is to activate the warning light? I get the message to "check spare tire pressure". It measures around 35psi. Im trying to figure out if I have a faulty TPMS sensor in my spare tire or I have a slow leak and I need to keep the pressure above 40... -

Have you seen this vid?
Very impressive video. Does the LR in the mud have a rear locking diff? In one section, only a single rear wheel is spinning along with the diagonal front wheel so looks like the center is locked but not the rear. -
