It's a worthwhile project, given that offically the land rover hitch is now rated for "occasional use only" -- something they've added retroactively. Drop me a PM with your e-mail I'd like more details.
Welcome -- drop me a PM w e-mail and I can provide you a few options. I would suggest giving Dustin a call at Roverlandparts.com for starts, pick up a used set of switches. That's going to be your cheapest option.
It looks interesting, I'd like to see more detailed photos and information about how it's mounted, and what rating you anticipate it to handle. It does seem a little long though..
It sounds like something is seriously wrong, or perhaps the computer is set for the Europe settings. For kicks it might be worth manually calculating your mileage.
Everyone has their own opinion or favorite. I don't generally shop for bargain priced oil. I use Royal Purple in the diffs, transfer case, and engine, and a Royal Purple engine oil filter.
On a raised air intake, it is not sealed to the air box, so no, you won't get better fording ability. On the matter of fording to the top of the windscreen, no, under any circumstances, you cannot go deeper than the hood, or water will pour into the cabin and flood the computers and electronics...

Could be a wiring issue as well, hopefully bbyer will be along soon, he's the master electrical guy.
Correct goingsurfin I ordered from landrovermerriam. I try to stick with OE, and just did this job.
It was most noticeable for me, with the car not running, by wobbling the wheel back and forth, you could hear it more than feel it.
There is a kit with inner/outer tie rod ends, fairly economical compared to the individual bits. Also the lower steering joint develops some noise in it.
It sounds like the issue I had, which was a combination of the shaft and inner tie rods.
