What Can I Expect From A Rover ?

The fact that you are asking about reliability makes me think you should run. My experience with an 01 disco2 is that you can fix most everything yourself, but it takes a lot of time and learning. Mine is my hobbie. If it wasnt I wouldnt own one. BTW dont drive one or you we be hooked. Cheers

    'shakes' from 2nd to 3rd

It doesnt matter whether it looks good are not. Mine looked good and felt tight, but was starting to go at 66k.Not until I got it out could i tell that the ends were oblong. If it hasnt been rebuilt it will need to be. Sooner is better than after it breaks and takes tranny with it. Do a search...

    Hi y'all!!

Welcome, a lot of answers to questions to be found on this forum. You may want to search for info on front driveshaft failures. Preventative maintenance is a must if you want to keep your disco happy. Cheers

Hello and welcome, Sounds like an exhaust leak? Please don't refer to RR as a jeep. You may get a lot of crap for that.

    Front drive shaft

I just used a dremel to eche some arrows on both sides. I didn't really want to pound on the shaft for fear of unbalancing it. I am not sure how sensitive it really is?? Just looked under the truck again today and I still can see them. BTW who makes a good center ball kit? I haven't really...

    Front drive shaft

Thanks for the input. Looks like I am going back in. Now that I have a better idea of what I am doing, it shouldn't be very difficult to change the "center ball". I believe that the propshaft still has the alignment marks from before. It not really work when you enjoy the learning!!

    Front drive shaft

Ok, I am no driveline specialist so I need some help. Can anyone tell me what to look for to tell if the "center ball" is bad? I rebuilt my front propshaft a few months ago withotu changing it. Haven't noticed any problem or vibes in about 800 miles, but if the shaft will definitely fail I don't...

    Front drive shaft

Hello I just rebuilt my front prop shaft a few months ago. I would recommend getting the "center ball kit". I didn't and it was a pain to get it back together and lined up correctly. I may have to replace mine eventually because the rubber cover was starting to crack. I guess it is just another...

01 d2 SLS ACE- air spring or height sensor problem?

Hello and thanks in advance. I have a 01 D2 SE7 with SLS & ACE and 69k. My problem is the driver side rear occasionally sinks. (common problem right), but I don't think the airspring is bad because it has stayed up for a week (didn't drive it we were on vacation). my guess is the height sensor...

Hello and thanks- U joint problem solved

Joey, Thanks for the vote of confidence. I am no mechanic, but it is reassurring that you think that i wont have any problems that i cant handle. Hello and thanks- U joint problem solved

Joshua, Please dont get me wrong, i fell in love with my rover after one test drive. I would really, really hate to have to sell. The question is more a matter of time. The have time for regular maintenance, but added repairs could be very difficult. The wife likes dinner and a movie...
