Thanks everyone for coming to our aid in our time of need. It ended up being the front differential. I wish we had found a way to have it towed here and fixed here rather than relying on a mechanic far away. We had to leave the car there while it was fixed and DH had to fly back a week later... -

It does not grind when sitting still - does grind in motion - accelerating or coasting. He said at 30mph it kind of goes away but any slower or faster it grinds. The grinding is loud. He's trying to send me a video - but it's not working right now. We understand it could be the transfer case... -

My brother just GAVE us his 2006 LR3 HSE. My husband flew from CO to Seattle to pick it up and drive it back. It has 36,000 miles and just had new brakes and the 45,000 mile service done. DH drove from Seattle to Bozeman last night - no problem. This am when he got a mile out, a loud grinding... -

Well - it's not here yet, but my brother just gave us his 2006 LR3 - 36,000 miles. His other cars are all electric - so he wanted to shed the guzzler.
