Tailgate cable seems jammed
Good point, never realized the cable everyone was talking about was for the actual locking mechanism. I'll probably go ahead and order the part on blind faith as there doesn't seem to be too much more than could cause this particular problem. Need to order a Genuine Oil Filter anyways. -

Sears Diehard Platinum P-1 fit in LR3?
I had thought about that one. In the end I really like the Platinums. I have two Odyssey's in my DII and love them. I should be able to make the P-1 fit but wanted to make sure there wasn't another Platinum option that worked better. -

I don't think it's DOT approved either. Not that its going to matter to some folks. I plan on pulling an RV with mine so it definitely matters to me given the consequences of having an accident towing the RV with a non-DOT approved hitch. -

I wish mine would fit into a box like that. I have an XXL frame and a 29'er full suspension. It's honking big! It barely fits in the back of my DII with the front tire removed. Edit: Nice Audi BTW. We just sold our C5 S6 Avant to get the new to us LR3. -

OK, thanks for the info. The Yakima rack I have bolts in pretty tight so it won't wiggle much. Nothing worse than your $3K mountain bike wiggling back and forth at highway speeds... I think I'll give the factory hitch a try first. Really would prefer the Curt but am concerned it might be... -

Quick question for those with the factory hitch. Does it move at all when installed? Just wondering if a bike rack mounted to it will wiggle much? BTW, my Yak Rack has the tightening bolt so it's as solid as the hitch it's mounted to. -

Awesome, kind of expected such but wanted a reality check before I ordered them. Originally wanted to get some 18" rims and get them powdercoated with Nitto's but decided I could just powder coat the 19" and use these as they seem pretty close in performance for my needs. -

Any update on these? I'm thinking about ordering a set this week from Discount Tire. Seem to be a good alternative to having to locate 18" rims to get decent A/T tires. Also prefer the stock size for fuel mileage and towing. -

LR3 Roof Rack Opinion
Just a little insight into the BajaRack. In my opinion they aren't very well suited for walking on. They are great for loading things onto but the psi from walking on the thinner cross support rails can cause them to bend. I have one on my D2 and used to own a shop where we sold tons of them...
