You guys believe what you want to. Next time you are at your LR dealership ask them what distributor services their bulk oil tanks and what oil they put into those tanks. Seems like no one accepts the truth anymore. I only sell thousands of gallons of Castrol a year to Jaguar and LR each year... -

No, it's not. I work for Shell Oil and we have a national contract with Jag and LR to deliver bulk Castrol to ALL NA dealerships. This has been in place since the "Ford" days and continues with TATA ownership. murphy -

Just called my LR dealership after reading this. Turns out the hooks come with the mats you purchased. But mine were not installed either. The dealer simply chucked the mats onto the floor. I just called and they said they don't install the hooks because "most people" don't like them perforating... -

I know that you can get an extended warranty package - though I can't remember the price. I think it was $2,000 extra. But what I DO remember was that you could wait UNTIL your OEM warranty was about to expire and THEN buy the extended - at the same cost. So that's what I chose to do. But I did... -

My first 400 miles in my New 2012 HSE
It's been interesting so far. The LR4 is EXTREMELY quiet compared to our past cars (Olds Silhouette Van and various gas misers). Hello, Newbie here...
Blown motor probably means the cam belt cut loose and caused the valves to crash into the pistons locking up and ruining the whole shebang. You're look at $3,500 minimum to replace. Stay away is my advice. Murph
