    Showoff Your LR4

Hold on a sec. how are you fitting 17" wheels, let alone 34" tires!?

New Voyager Low Profile Roof Rack and Ladder

Just keep an eye on it. My Voyager rock sliders chipped and rusted like no one's business. I wish they had used some type of zinc coating or something to protect them better. It seemed like it was simple paint on raw steel. When I removed the sliders after a few years' use, the biggest mess was...

End of the road for me (for now)

Well, my time contracting here in the Middle East is done. With that came the sale of my LR4 yesterday. I have to say, this has been my most favorite vehicle that I have ever owned. It was always up for any off-road adventure I could think of our here. Giant 100+ft sand dunes, sharp rocky...

    Rear spare tire carrier

Yep, I wanted a Kaymar for ages but they stopped selling in the USA. You'd pay massive shipping direct from Aus and then have to pay import fees. It's a shame.

Not my month...22k. Timing chain and coolant leak, thoughts.

After all of the issues with the 5.0L V8 and the leaking water pump / crossover pipe to the point they had to release a TSB... how is this still a thing in the new SCV6 engines!??

Annoying rattle at rear pillar finally solved

Wow. That sounds like exceptionally poor design.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

@jwest Talking about road noise... I love my BFG TA KO2, but dear lord are they noisy. I swear they weren't this bad when I put them on. As they have worn over the last year, they are definitely noisier. Small price for an otherwise fantastic tire.

Wear & Tear hvac knobs - door armrest

That would make a lot more sense. Perhaps his wife is using some hand lotion?

    LR4 Accessories

I think its safe to say the electronics in these trucks are miles behind for the luxury market. BMW should be industry standard in this price bracket. I would love the Merc's Burmester audio option. Not even the D5 is up to snuff. Land Rover always feels a generation behind.

    LR4 Mileage Poll

2013 V8 @52k miles -Front LCA's around the 30k mile mark (out of pocket wear and tear) -Water Pump leak (TSB and covered under warranty) -2 batteries (warranty) -Front pads and rotors (out of pocket wear and tear) This thing has been a dream. I love it and REALLY want to keep it. However, I am...

Has anyone done any exhaust modifications to their SCV6 LR4?

Just FYI re: the Magnaflow on a V8: Do NOT do it! That's money I threw down the toilet. The Good: -It sounds fantastic under acceleration -It burbles and pops in Sport shift mode on downshifts! The Bad: -Drone. Crazy drone at cruising speeds. Drove me insane. The Ugly: -Poor design. It...

Wear & Tear hvac knobs - door armrest

That knob wear is crazy. Mine still look brand new 5 years on. I live in the Middle East and it is FAR hotter than FL, so I doubt heat is the issue. I also rest my elbow on the door sill like you and have a mark, but not worn through. The natural arm rest in the door is stupid low. Who has...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

I don't think you can just "flash" a truck with a supercharger like you do a turbo car like a VW / BMW. Those flashes will adjust wastegate actuation in a turbo system, adding more actual boost pressure. Superchargers work completely differently. I think one of the main way to seek power gains...

Signs that LCAs need to be replaced

My dealer claimed it was a wear and tear item and they were not covered. YMMV. I do off-road more than most and mine didn't last more than 30k miles or so.

Signs that LCAs need to be replaced

This is the exact diagnosis my local service center suggested. Get it up a few miles an hour and apply the brakes hard. Immediately get that "clunk" sound and can reproduce it every time. Prior to this I would get the occasional clunk when going over small bumps etc, which led me to believe the...

    Showoff Your LR4

Nice low mileage find! You're probably better off with a FL truck that has never seen yearly winter salt, unlike a PNW truck. Congrats and enjoy!

Front tow hook. Removing plastic cover?

I haven't put my front cover back on in over 4 years. :D Completely unnecessary.

    Buying help needed!!!

Beautiful truck!! I would have chosen the same. Being truthful, I am not a fan of the silver arch / mirror wrap. I'd keep it completely blacked out.

    Radiator leak

Firstly, are you 100% sure it is the radiator? The LR4 5.0L V8 has a known issue with leaky water pump / crossover pipe. There's actually a Technical Service Bulletin about it. That said, if it were the radiator I would look to find one used online or out of a scrap yard. No point in paying full...

    Gear Shift Selector

Paddles sound like an absolute nightmare when driving in sand. Sometimes you hit the really soft stuff and I can react very quickly to slap the stick into lower gear and pull myself out of the situation. Carrying speed / momentum is the name of the game driving in the sand dunes here. Those...

    Sell a 2010 and buy a 2013?

I'm looking at making a move out of the Middle East and to the UK. This is the first vehicle I have loved so much, I want to go buy another. I can't take my left-hand-drive LR4 to the UK, so I need to sell my 2013 V8 and purchase a right-hand-drive in the UK. I am likely going to buy a 2016 with...

    Sweet Sounding F-Pace

In case this thread veers into asking about the Magnaflow exhaust for the LR4, I paid for it, put it on and eventually went back to the stock exhaust. It sounded amazing, but there was definitely a drone. It also was poorly engineered and the muffler hung significantly lower than the stock one...

    Saying goodbye to an albatross

I was under the impression the alternator in the LR4 was a sealed unit. Part of the over-engineering that went into these trucks for the off-road / wading capabilities. http://wardsauto.com/news-analysis/land-rover-lr4-sure-footed-elegant-pricey
