Can't ever say exactly what, but the when is very easy..
Wait, just heard something in the garage...
Ah, yes, it was the call of the LR4.
Fix me Seymour, Fix me...
I keep mine heavily waxed with an old fashioned paste wax.
Restoring kits are a waste of time and money.
So far pretty good, but scratches still happen over time.
For a temporary fix, or if you want to add another weekly chore - WD40.
Thanks, ugmw177, I have seen that photo, but without taking the lower dash apart I cannot confirm.
I am looking through the mechanics manual and I see 2 expansion valves, one in the front and one in the rear.
Seems to me that as both zones are blowing hot, that simultaneous failure of both...
2013, V8, LR4, 92K miles.
She has been in storage in my garage since 2020, run and moved a bit over the years, everything is fine.
except
very, very little to no A/C.
In hindsight, I did not run the A/C during that time.
The local independent took out 640g (or thereabouts) and recharged with...
Always and forever, OEM parts only, with very few exceptions - one being possibly being that little elbow.
I did not change belts at 50K, they looked like brand new, maybe I should have ?
I did not change tensioners either.
My grandfather always too her out on a back road and opened her up.
Nothing quite like the feeling of that short delay followed by that 4 barrel kicking in !
When I did the 2016 a couple years ago it wasn't that bad, I was just wondering if it's really a big deal or if it's just some folks want...
Thanks everyone!
A you-might-as-well that comes to mind.
What about cleaning the intake valves?
Would need to be accomplished through the intakes, I am not taking it any farther apart than necessary.
I may be able to do the crossovers - but at the end of the day I am only a reasonably capable...
Questions at the end....
47,490 miles, 2015.
It's been smelling suspicious for a few weeks.
This morning, Low Coolant Alarm.
And a small puddle of coolant on the garage floor - feels and tastes like coolant.
And I can see that tell tale bit of yellow coolant (under UV) when looking way down...
If they replaced the water pump in 2021, then it's the new Rover pump and design - unlikely that is the source.
Dripping quite a bit you say... Don't drive it at all we all say....
Yes! Replace all plastic bits every 40-50K !
I have no personal experience with the Aluminium replacements.
With a leak as shown, I would not be driving that anywhere!
Many locations for a leak "on the front of the engine"
My 2013 was at the oil cooler tube - if you have a factory original...
That wire you are showing is used only in initial shipping from the factory. It connects to a battery disconnect relay that is installed at the factory and removed at the dealers. Make sure that cap is secure, it can sometimes come off.
There is a pyrotechnic coupling at the battery that...
The part numbers for Christmas tree zip ties are in the video - you probably caught a nap in that bit!
I make videos so I never need to figure it out again - I hope to keep these vehicles until I do my final check out.
I'm glad you find it useful!
When ordering a new Exide 151, order it directly from the UK. even after shipping it will be considerably less expensive that getting one at a dealer.
I have been very pleased with Groves Batteries Ltd. Cheltenham.
When re-installing, note that factory OEM has a battery blanket that you most...

It's a oil like substance, I didn't really take the time to look at it, I just cleaned it up.
I show the oil dripping out in the video.
Those poly bushing folks are quire loud and insistent in their opinions, I wonder...
You can do lower control arms yourself, parts are relatively inexpensive, but it is the one project that always bonks me on the head.
But, yes, always an alignment afterwards.
Yes on the lower control arms.
Mine all needed replacing at about 60K.
I have never had luck pressing bearings so no way I will try to press those bushings, I went with OEM entire control arm assemblies.
You should have done this when you did the crossover pipes, but you absolutely need to...
