    ftillier's maintenance history

@ftillier I have a huge folder of invoices and I'm scared to itemize and break down costs. It's a very sophisticated truck with a lot of tedious maintenance and I love mine enough to pay to play.

    ftillier's maintenance history

Oh god... why did you do this? My list is pretty extensive, including but not limited to everything you did plus 2 transmissions (1 new and 1 used), timing chain, exhaust manifold gaskets, 2x rear driveshafts, new cooling components twice, new air suspension overhaul, new front diff, countless...

    Marketplace/Craigslist finds?

Not sure if the MudTech 18" is a direct bolt-on for the LR4s in the states. I've downsized my brakes to the Euro TDV6 brakes to accommodate 17s with 285/70r17 tires and love them. I want to go bigger tires, but my fuel consumption is telling me no.

Road Trip, now have CEL with P0420

You can check the injector pulse-width live values. They should all be very close together and if one is off you'll know it pretty quickly.

Road Trip, now have CEL with P0420

    1. Mine turned out to be an exhaust leak between the exhaust manifold and downpipes on both sides. I used a cheap smoke tester and plugged it through the tail pipes(s) to find the leak between the up stream and down stream O2 sensors. After I fixed it, I cleared the adapations on GAP to let it...

LR4 ARB Rear Locker is possible!

Aww, I misread it... Still just the front lockers.

LR4 ARB Rear Locker is possible!

Reviving my own thread, I know... I just noticed the ARB locker added the 5.0 V8 LR4s to the supported fitment on their website. https://store.arbusa.com/air-locker-differential-lr-discovery-3-4-fr-29-spl-rd217/?Year=2011&Make=Land%20Rover&Model=LR4

    Checking oil level - immediately

I'd prefer an "ol school" dipstick, but this is way better than waiting a decade for it to register. :shot:

    Checking oil level - immediately

Tired of filling your oil and not knowing if it's enough or wanting to check your oil level immediately without starting/stopping and waiting 10-15 mins? Found this gem and it's THE best thing ever.

    Radiator Replacement

I have this exact coolant vacuum fill kit and it makes it easy.

Need help with replacement of low pressure fuel line!

I seriously just did this not too long ago where the plastic quick disconnect disintegrated. To get access from up top, I removed the battery and box around it. For access underneath, I removed the skid plates (if you have any). I didn't want to buy a replacement hose #6 in the second picture...

    LR4 ... radiator leak?

I highly recommend replacing all cooling items as you planned plus the radiator. I also recommend getting everything from fcpeuro.com if you can, simply for their lifetime warranty. Also only get oem parts for cooling and electrical sensors. I recently did my radiator too and my comment on...

    Battery Draw

A 304Ah Lifepo4 battery setup is pretty cool, unfortunately the Triaxide setup won't work with it. You'll want a DC to DC charger with a lithium profile to properly charge it. I have a Redarc BCDC1225D with solar input to keep my secondary fully charged at all times and I love that thing.

    DIY Cargo/Sleeping platform

My setup changes depending on passengers. If my family of 3 is with me, I need the second row. My fridge stays in the middle as it's THE most stable section of the vehicle and beer cans don't pop on bumpy fast trails. The 2nd row seats on the sides on the other hand gets replaced by the storage...

    DIY Cargo/Sleeping platform

Yeah, my biggest gripe about my setup is lack of space with the overhead storage and ridiculously high platform. I'm a small guy and I barely fit up there. I'm a side sleeper and and I hit stuff attached to the overhead storage. I might end up building drawers and lowering the platform. Who...

    DIY Cargo/Sleeping platform

2nd row seats folded down and the extended platform folded in half. Extended platform half deployed with legs extended and fridge access. Clearance from the bottom of the platform with Plano storage bins. Fully deployed platform. Don't mind the mess, it was for a quick pic. Legs retracted...

    DIY Cargo/Sleeping platform

I did one similar to @steevo and @avslash. The rear looks like @steevo without the center brace, so I can get to the spare tire winch. Mine is just tall enough to fit a 5 gallon bucket and some Plano Sportsman bins. The only difference with mine is a double folding platform extension hinge...

Why do american trucks get much better mpg that the lr4?

I dislike all of you with great mpgs. I average 10-12 mpgs and close to 13 on a good day on pavement going 70-80 mph mostly highway speeds. I also average 7-10 mpg on dirt. I would LOVE anything over 15 mpg at this point. :shot:

    LR4 Fuel Pressure Sensor?

The hpfp very accessible from the side. You really need to remove the sound baffles to access the bolts holding the hpfp. I think you're right, probably remove the upper fuel hard lines to the union to remove the sound baffle.

    Metal coolant plumbing for LR4?

I usually tell people that electronics and cooling, stick to oem. These trucks are very sensitive and boujee like that. I also tell people to overhaul EVERYTHING cooling related at the same time to save $$$ in the long run. Plastic deteriorate over time and you might be able to fix your front...

    LR4 Fuel Pressure Sensor?

I didn't have any issues with installing mine. It was surprisingly easy. From memory, you can access everything through the wheel well. Remove the hard lines feeding up to the union and it's pretty straight forward. I also recall the foam sound baffles were a pain in the butt to remove, I ripped...

    LR4 Fuel Pressure Sensor?

I've replaced both HPFPs and taken off the all the fuel lines up front on separate occasions. First thing you want to do is depressurize the system at the fuel rail union on bank 1, and make sure you have a rag around the area to minimize fuel spraying everywhere. After you're done replacing...

    Increased Performance

THE best performance is a healthy engine for the 5.0 V8. The best performance upgrade for the SCV6 is swapping out the lower pulley and tune. One of the guys I've met on here did this a few years ago was pushing about 450 HP and averaging 20+ mpg at 80+ mph in stop/go Los Angeles, CA traffic...
