    Transmission confusion

Do the fluid change and do it sooner rather than later. If you have the shop install the metal pan conversion the labor rate should go down significantly. Also, please use the correct ZF fluid. I know a lot of people use other things, but I wasn't willing go gamble...

    HDC Fault

I was sitting at idle in my driveway trying to troubleshoot an A/C problem and I got the HDC fault system unavailable error (no other messages on the cluster). I believe the ABS light also came on. Battery is BRAND new. Literally just put in an interstate AGM 3 days ago (battery date 5/20)...

    Lower control arm... ugh!

I had a lot of trouble with the ball joints as well. Probably took me 30 minutes with a sledge hammer. I also had just as much trouble getting the half shaft pushed out of the hub for clearance. My air hammer must not be that powerful. This is a physically demanding job but pretty rewarding...

ZF 8HP refill - showing full before replacing amount drained

I would also highly recommend buying an inexpensive scan tool that can tell you trans fluid temperature. I found measuring the pan to give a lot of variation and I could never get a reading that was even close to the fluid temperature my scan tool showed. It also took much longer than a minute...

    2010 LR4 - Scraping Noise When Turning

I had an odd popping/grinding noise at full lock on my lr3. I replaced the fluid in my front diff and transfer case and it solved my problem. I suspect I had some binding somewhere. might be worth a try if you are due for a fluid change.

    Passenger Fusebox problems.

I would make sure someone finds the actual issue before swapping out parts. It could be a short somewhere that would still be there after the dealer spends thousands of dollars replacing all those components.

    Engine Noise 2006 LR3 HSE

Mine sounds like that as well. It's a 2005 with 170k on it. It has been that way as long as I can remember.

    LR3 Small Mystery Coolant Leak

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was able to finally resolve this. It turned out it was the water pump. Very surprising since it has probably less than 15k miles on it. It was an Airtex replacement that had the cardboard gasket. I think it was leaking at the shaft seal though not the...

    LR3 Small Mystery Coolant Leak

Do you mean the part of the housing with the 4 bolts that mount onto the top of the engine block under the throttle body? I will have to check that. I could have an issue with the thermostat housing as well. I have used permatex products in the past and had very good luck with them on water...

    LR3 Small Mystery Coolant Leak

I totally forgot at the time but I plan on trying that next. I am also going to clamp off some of the hoses and see if I can isolate the specific area where the leak is. Thanks for the tip!

    LR3 Small Mystery Coolant Leak

Hi everyone, I have a 2005 LR3 HSE with 169k miles. I have been smelling coolant from the front of the engine for a while now and the level with drop very slightly every couple of hundred miles. I replaced the water pump, thermostat housing, coolant reservoir within the last 20k miles. It is...
