    Snow chains recommendations

I run the RUD Grip 4x4 chains when required over the Washington state passes and in National Parks. Most of the time they're just extra weight, but when it's bad they help considerably. https://www.roverparts.com/wheels-tires/tire-chains/8940/ RUD Grip 4x4 Item 0141

    Need a Second Key

I don’t have cut keys in my fobs any more, and the silver covers have fallen off and been lost. Still works fine, but I keep a backup couple keys charged just in case ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Old Defender or keep upgrading LR4

If it’s also a daily driver then cruise control, heated seats, power mirrors, and modern antilock brakes with traction control are all nice. If it’s an off-road toy then I suppose you’ll need something to pull the trailer and the LR4 would be a good fit! Buy ‘em both. Sent from my iPhone...

    Need a Second Key

Looks like you’re in the right neighborhood, you’ll just have to try it and see what happens. I suggest an eBay key to start, low risk ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Need a Second Key

You can DIY with a programming tool (gap iid or similar) - it’s pretty straightforward as long as you have at least 1 key. The dealer can do it for $500 + $250 for the key if you prefer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Smallest Key Fob - 2013 LR4

You can use a programming tool and an existing key to program an entirely new key, or you can swap the existing key’s guts into a new shell. This thread has been helpful, but it has me thinking about making a diy case to see how small I can get... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Smallest Key Fob - 2013 LR4

Hey guys, I ordered an eBay RR fob on 315mhz thinking it would be smaller than my OEM, but the thing is thick and heavy. What’s the smallest option (other than taking the board out of mine and carrying it naked? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Introducing myself and my 2015 LR4 with ARB Bull Bar - Need Advice

I had my LR4 on some dirt trails this past weekend and was satisfied with the performance of the Cooper Zeon LTZ at 255/55r19 I didn’t air down, but the trail was pretty dry and I skipped the main boulder garden. This is not my video and the trail has some minor changes since this was taken...

    DRL's and GAP tool - 2012 LR4

Even just programming a new eBay key can pay for most of the IID tool. Enabling the digital speedo, adjusting the stance, and enabling the Open/Close windows with the key fobs were the first things I did with mine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Definitive roof rack thread?

100% agree. I gave up and decided if I didn’t like the high step I should consider cutting back on beer and do some yoga [emoji1787] Since there’s little chance of that, I’ll just make old dad noises every time I climb on the rack [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the passenger side versions give you one extra step. On the front runner the step to the bumper and the step onto that first rung are both pretty long. The ProSpeed ladder adds a little side step to get you going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thinking about buying an LR4 for Offroading/Overlanding

I've slept in the cab on my LR4 and I agree with entry/exit through the second row doors. With the seats down the door still acts as a little mud room and you can slide your shoes into the gap that remains behind the front seats. Go in backwards and sit on the seat back, then swing your legs in...

255/55R19 Pictures! Duratrac vs. Geolandar A/T G015 vs. Terrain Contact A/T

Most threads get bogged down talking about 18" rims so it's harder to find the right posts. Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"...

255/55R19 Pictures! Duratrac vs. Geolandar A/T G015 vs. Terrain Contact A/T

Sure enough, they were super discounted at Walmart for a while but it seems like the price went back up. When they were 240+ I was going to get the Geolandars for all the same reasons you are looking at them. I think they're a very good option for the price, and probably more capable in the snow...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Sorry about that, my notes were a little vague. 1. Yes, install the rack to the roof of the rover before trying to attach the fairing. There is easy access to the under side of the rack even while it is on the car. I used the sun roof but I could have also done it while sitting on top of the...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

We were on the highway this weekend, wind noises are greatly reduced at highway speeds (70+). It's not silent, but neither are the tires or the mirrors. I'm happy with it and would recommend it for anyone going the FR Rack route.

    2013 Gently Murmuring at Me

My wife got in the LR4 this weekend and asked "why is your car making those little whimper/murmur sounds?" I really hadn't noticed but after she pointed it out I could hear it. It seems to be making the noise every time the automatic setting on the AC changes the vent directions or speed of the...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Fairing came in, fit seems pretty good, I haven't had it on the highway yet. For anyone planning to install one, I suggest fully mounting it, using painter's tape to mark 1/2" out from the curve, then remove it before applying the protective tape. I did not do it this way at first which...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

For the front runner owners, they've just released a new full coverage front fairing to take the place of the little 2-piece air dam that only really works up to about 55mph. I'm hopeful that it will cut down on the wind noise at faster highway speeds. We'll see in a week or two. Sent from my...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

SeaTac airport garage claims to be 82" and my front runner fits just fine on normal height (with a little IID tool lift). For what it's worth, having the bolt slots in all the rails on the front runner has been a real joy. I've got a collection of loops and eyes and accessories that always bolt...
