Oh yes the salt use here is out of control. More salt than I put on my steak! If I buy this one, I’ll definitely be taking for rust protection treatment to see what can be prevented. Hopefully not too late. -

'On Schedule' = routinely at 10k miles or less. Also, from shop owner: "After performing the timing chain repair, water pump and supercharger isolator as outlined the rattling noise you are hearing in the videos will be resolved. The VVT’s are being replaced along with the timing chain... -

I have all of the JLR documentation for service. It looks like oil changes were completed on schedule. I'm also confused as to why 2016 timing chains are acting up this early, and I'm definitely a bit nervous about other potential issues (rings, rod bearings). I'll see what mechanic thinks, and... -

Thank you for all of the replies. The shop disconnected the supercharger and noise persisted (although slightly less). Slight noise from water pump pulley, but noise persisted. Thank you for reply - yes, the shop said it would be around 7K for chains. Do timing chains rattle during cold start up and then produce less sound when the vehicle warms up, typically? That seems to be the case. Hopefully they can diagnose the issue quickly and I can decide from there what to... -
