    Increased Performance

I’m in the middle of this swap and yes, at a bare minimum, 20” rims are a requirement.

Is this a failing crossover pipe?

Yes, unfortunately, replacing the heater core means the dash is going to have to come out. In a good note though, when the days is out, you can add new duct insulation to everything, sealing the HVAC system up like it was brand new! Of not, when you get to the metal dash frame, there are 2...

Transfer case and diff oil change

Ok, oil leaking from the bottom of the engine is a VERY open ended question. Before I give you the usual suspects, are you leaving any oil on the ground? Ok, common oil leak points: 1. Valve covers. Over time they just start leaking. 2. Vacuum pump: (Front bottom of engine on the...

    BCM SDD Questions

That makes too much sense…clearly LR didn’t do it that way! LOL!!!! I think you’re right, sorta. I believe the firmware is indeed tied to different hardware revisions, as in my case, the difference between 2010/11 and 2012/13 would be the Denso based infotainment and the Bosch Infotainment...

    BCM SDD Questions

Well, the vendor I was working with made me an offer on the fresh CJB I just couldn’t refuse…so the new one is on its way. Once I get back in town I now have 3 different ways to go about trying to get it to work correctly! Failure is not an option as I’m in way too deep to go back now!

    BCM SDD Questions

Hey All! So, I'm at that point in my infotainment swap where I have to push outside my knowledge zone. Mainly this pertains to the fact that I've tracked my last gremlin to the CJB/BCM differences between the 2012 and 2010 LR4's. Here's my dilemma: I need to swap a 2012/13 CJB/BCM into my...

Is this a failing crossover pipe?

So, my big question now is, how many weeks was it eating coolant for? If it was just one or two, then yes, I'd say someone didn't bleed the system correctly. If it's been for a while, there's a problem. Go to harbor freight, or something similar and get a coolant system pressure tester...

Oil "anti-drain valve" in top of engine block 5.0 LR4

yeah, I had a feeling. Any chance you have another one laying around...or anyone knows the exact part number? I mean seriously, they're still making the SCV8, and I believe it's still a part of the SCV6 engine as well...LR should have some to buy....should being the key word.

Is this a failing crossover pipe?

Yeah, a pint of coolant a week is a bit excessive… And yes, plenty of “great” deals out there!

Seeking LR4 inline thermostat and crossover pipe Beta Testers

I too am very interested, any chance you're developing a front crossover too?

Is this a failing crossover pipe?

Only 20K on the "new" radiator? First off, that would make me VERY suspect of the quality of parts the shop used. If the radiator has failed so quickly, I imagine the crossover tube isn't far behind. (the cheap aftermarket crap fails a lot sooner than the OE stuff does...typically..but...

PCV Valve 2016 LR4 V6 - What is this gasket?

We've ALL done this! When fixing one thing, we inadvertently knock or break something else! As long as you found it and all is good!

Oil "anti-drain valve" in top of engine block 5.0 LR4

Holy Crap!!!!! How did you find that part?!?!?!?! I've been trying to find one for literally years! I've replaced the head drain valves, but not the block. (I too am rebuilding my engine). Aside from someone having one on the shelf, does anyone know where we can order them? (Or is there...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

I literally just glued some plastic...probabaly not the longest term solution, but at least it'll get me back up and running in the short term. In theory, the cowl should be blocked, but it's got some "weak spots." Here's how the under side of my replacement cowl looks. (sorry, I didn't look...

2016 HSE, wet floormats, and can't find the drain ends!

I just did a quick write up about my sunroof drains here: There are a few pictures of the tricky spots that have been discussed here. I also currently have the interior out of my LR4 and can take pics/video and show exactly how/where the drains are run...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

I TOTALLY agree! Except for the fact that I'm on like my 9th windshield. SMH. I went through 4 in a 6 month period...Safelite did them all because the cheap knockoff glass they were using at the time wasn't compatible with the rain sensor. I think there was another windshield in there...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Y’all have convinced me, I’m pulling my trim caps off as soon as the weather gets just a little warmer. @RoverTide, where did you source the little black circle tape? Or is this one of those “ductape” will work just fine? I guess we’re just sealing the hole up, and since the guides are...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Gotcha! I was toying with the idea of putting some silicone around/in the holes so when I installed the trim cap, it would seal itself up. However, the original "gasket" was still there and in ok shape so I just reinstalled the trim. Knowing my luck, I'd break the trim piece trying to get the...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Upgraded a-pillar clips? You have my attention… I thought they were all the same? You know, one time use sorta clips? Cause I swear it seems like if they’re on there 24 hours or more the heads break off when trying to remove the trim piece. SMH

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Continuing, here's what I did to seal it up. Basically, there was no way I could get at it from the outside to seal it, so all my effort was spent sealing from the inside. Full disclosure, I have concerns that water may get trapped and cause a corrosion problem down the road, but hopefully...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Hey all! I thought I'd post this as a quick heads up for others out there if you find yourself struggling with water in the footwells and you've cleaned your sunroof drains! Long story even longer, I had cleaned all 4 drain ports and thought I was good to go, but still had water pooling up...

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

Again, the physical installation is relatively easy. There will be a little wiring involved as the 8spd is an electronic shift and the 6spd is a mechanical shift. (this refers to the gear selector in the cabin). Luckily, you can get a dial selector pretty cheaply off eBay. Then you'll need to...

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

That's my general thoughts...I just can't find anyone who's integrated the 8spd into the "legacy" V8's. The first problem alone would be resetting the VIN in the TCM so the truck will let you shift...then there's the whole compatibility issue. But it would be nice....

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

I would argue, given the number of "parts only" cars on marketplace/ebay, you could pick up a set of 3.54 axles pretty cheaply. And yes, the 3.73 would make a big difference....although, depending on how the math works out, you may lose some top end speed given the differences in the gear...

    ZF8HP70 for ZF6HP28 swap?

Just so we’re all clear, I think I’m gonna avoid trailblazing the engine AND the transmission. (Unless someone chimes in who has cracked the transmission swap….or the engine for that matter). I’n planning on the engine only swap with a trans rebuild. The 8speed swap was just a thought I was...
