LR4 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement?
Anyone try ATP AT-205? My indy mechanic told me he started to notice a little bit of seeping that will need to get addressed in the future when it gets worse. Quoted me around ~$2500.- sbojangles

Yeah I've combed through the powerfulUK videos several times over with no luck unfortunately. One reply I got on facebook is they had to wire directly from 12v ACC power with OEM ones... The knock offs were $1k- sbojangles

Hey I recently picked up a set of chinese knock off headlights off eBay... probably my first mistake. Anyways I've used the GAP tool to enable Xenon headlights fitted (didn't have them on my 2010 just standard halogens) and I also enabled the DRL (but not the Canadian or Scandinavian). I recently started having trouble with the upper tailgate as well with very similar symptoms... fault on the GAP tool it's "B12EE-11 (68) Liftgate/tailgate/trunk release - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground" Would it make sense for me to replace the actuator with this fault...- sbojangles

Just hit 49,000 miles - extended warranty or roll dice?
I'd go extended warranty for sure. The extended warranty that came with the used car I bought and transferred to my name has already covered air suspension compressor, lower control arms, and water pump replacement. And I still have two years left!- sbojangles

Buying a used high mileage 2010 LR4
Ended up buying a 2010 LR4 HSE with 75,000 miles with two years left on the extended warranty (I already had to use it for the water pump/crossover pipe hah). I'm a happy camper so far! Love the ride, it's something else. Still need to find a good mechanic in the San Diego area, preferably...- sbojangles

Appreciate everyone's input, lots of positive feedback even at the expense of some money... definitely seems the pride of ownership is a big draw. The ride quality is in a league of its own. It doesn't help that my fiance really loves it hah trying to convince her that going Lexus is the smart thing to do hasn't been easy... Besides camping trips, I work from home so it wouldn't be driven much. I've put approx 2k on my BMW in the past 6 months so I'm playing the mental gymnastics...- sbojangles

Yes, you're definitely right about needing to have work done preemptively. As far as the coolant pipes, fluid changes, timing chain, and suspension that's something I need to do a deep dive on with the receipts and get the pre-purchase inspection done at an indy LR shop to know what's around the...- sbojangles
