How long do you plan on keeping your LR3?
Sorry to go against the grain on this, but I will be returning my '06 when the lease is up in November. It's been extremely reliable but just too car-like, i.e. borrrring! A truck should be a truck! Problems With the LR3
Arbourstone, sorry to hear about your back patch with the LR3 and the dealer in Calgary. I've got 12000 km on mine here on the B.C. coast and once I solved the "tailgate clunk" it's been solid as a rock - not a rattle even after a 200 km day on gravel backroads in Utah. Keep the faith! 22 MPG @ 75mph
Did a 3900 mile trip from BC down through southern Utah and back in mid-May with a combo of 75 mph interstate and backroad travel (Hole in the Rock, Cottonwood Cyn Narrows) and averaged 23.2 mpg (Imperial), about 19.3 per US gal.. Hmmm..."Replaced" as in old plug put back in or "replaced" as in new plug? If the former, try pine or juniper resin to plug the drainhole. Ciao.- steppenwolf

Knock From Right Rear
Just an FYI; finally cured my torsion/pothole-induced squeaking/clunking noise. Seemed to be emanating from the right side of the rear seat (5 seater), but it was indeed the right side of the rear liftgate. G4 Challenge LR3 (Disco 3) Tires
According to my dealer here in Victoria, the Pirellis were standard issue on the LR3's bound for Canada only during a brief window. They have since gone back to the Wranglers. Does anyone know if the MT/R's are available in Canada in the the 255/55R19" for the HSE ?- steppenwolf

Thanks for the suggestions "Bluebird" and "dry fly". Not to be thick but where EXACTLY did you apply the grease/velco? Was the noise coming from contact between the liftgate and dropgate or between either one and the vehicle body? Thanks and ciao.- steppenwolf

Well, took the Rover in to the dealer and he tightened the struts and strikers. Assume he roadtested it but the "knock/groan" continues same as ever.
