2013 LR4 headlight lenses on eBay

I just did mine, it's early days but the look better; lets see how they hold up!

2015 Coolant leak, not cross overs

No noises, in hindsight had I known I suspect checking for bearing play may have revealed the issue! So, what I might do now is release the tension on the belt and then just check if there's any play in any of the idlers, it should be pretty quick to do this. Clearing up from this mess I found...

2015 Coolant leak, not cross overs

At about 100K miles we broke down on a dark rainy night because the serpentine belt failed (I had the kids with me). The belt failure was caused by a failed idler bearing (this is the idler that you can't see which faces in the opposite direction to all other pulleys). The failing of the belt...

    Most popular injector puller?

TBH I used the following and it worked absolutely fine, I had a few tougher ones to pull out but also believe I was reasonably lucky when I did my timing chains: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WHPFZLY?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6&th=1

If there's nothing in the engine bay could it be something in the heater core or rear heating system?

2014 Land Rover LR4, suspension faults after compressor and valve block work

I plot my journey with the same mismatch (hardware/software) in this thread, my be worth some bed time reading... https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2012-lr4-reluctant-to-lower-from-off-road-suspension-mode.44636/

    2012 LR4 front sunroof drains

"On LR3, that rubber elbow going through the body sheetmetal seems to dump right behind the outside silver air intake grill. Is that the same for LR4?" Yes, taking off the intake grill can be a pain in the a**, I've seen suggestions of using a credit card to get behind it, it's a little nerve...

    V8 5L - Thoughts on P0016 a year after chain change

@ugmw177 - I think this is a good theory, I tend to go very easy on mine during warmup (and actually the rest of the time as well), anyway; this particular day when it happened we'd had a decent amount of snow, I was in the mood for a little fun and reckon I may have gone a little faster than...

    V8 5L - Thoughts on P0016 a year after chain change

@heliart - Misery loves company! I did my chains just over a year ago (Dec 2024) and yesterday got the exact same error code; it started with an engine light and restricted performance but then the restricted performance switched off. It's a similar situation in that it's very cold here...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

So glad I was able to help; this is exactly why I try and leave breadcrumbs for others. Knock on wood mine has been working with no issues... I did purchase an AMK compressor and found one for a decent price in the UK, even with the shipping it turned out to be a good deal. I reckon you could...

    SCV6 Engine chatter/knock

I had my go out in 2024, the one that faces the opposite direction to the other pulleys, it took out the serpentine belt and a whole bunch of other things, for me the morale of the story is to check these bearings every 40 to 50K miles. I renewed all idlers when repairing the belts.

    Homelink Can't Program

Here's another thread on the same: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/cant-seem-to-be-able-to-program-homelink.24834/ I just installed a new mirror in my 2012 LR4 but this is not a very cost effective solution and requires specialized knowledge and retrofitting (which I didn't do...

    Coolant change/flush?

Also think about the front and rear diffs and the transfer case if they've not already been done. Pay attention to using the correct fluids also.

5.0L Crankshaft Seal Leak, Request Advice

You'll need a belt tool for the front belt (mostly for putting it back on): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AC60VEC?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_0 While in there I'd be looking at the hoses, front crossover, water pump to oil cooler, ... You can only turn the engine clockwise when...

5.0L Crankshaft Seal Leak, Request Advice

I don't think it's a terrible job other than as Rover Range says getting the crankshaft bolt off (and on - pay attention to thread direction). Absolutely go with a very big 3/4" breaker bar as I think you'll be getting close to 600lbft of torque (this is not exact given the torque spec on that...

Coolant Smell After Driving and Temperature Gauge Reading

I had an idler pulley fail in the accessory belt system; it in turn caused me quite a few headaches with the damage that the belt did. The idler that failed was the one that is mounted to the back of the bracket. I strongly suggest you check this pulley on a regular basis; it stranded me with...

    Timing Chain parts

@Rover Range - Am I correct in thinking though that the 2015 sv6 would have the updated chain guide (with the steel inserts) that avoids the aluminum wearing issue? I think I've read historically that the V6 can still have issues with the timing system but that it is less likely? @ClevelandLR4...

Coolant Smell After Driving and Temperature Gauge Reading

I've not replaced the radiator so can't answer all your questions but here's what I do know: I presume I will have to drain the Transmission oil? No - they are decoupled, just like the oil cooler in the V is also decoupled, do pay attention to what txfromwi mentions above though about the water...

    Coolant Issue driving me crazy

Another failure point is from the back of the water pump to the oil cooler; there's a small plastic pipe that connect the two and often the o'rings will start leaking. You will need to use your bore scope and look down in to the front of the "V" for any coolant (down by the oil filter). The...
