Intermittent clicking sound at idle 5.0L V8
Look at this little guy. I have two 5.0 engines and both make a very similar sound. I believe when it sticks then pops free it makes the click. Yes, mine has a fin broken off. Doesn't seem to affect anything. It should spin freely. It's on the back of the fan assembly.- Cowinthefog

I have seen and wondered about those head gaskets. First I need to know if they are necessary. Rover Range-thanks for the info, though it only partly answers my questions. Milling....
I have the 5.0 NA AJ133. Used block. I had the heads and block deck milled .015 total to flatten them. I also had the cylinders bored .020 over to remove light corrosion. Question 1- What is the stock head gasket thickness? I assume I should get a thicker gasket to compensate. Question 2- Does...- Cowinthefog
