Thanks for your comments. The trim piece did not fall off, but the edge towards the back of the car came undone. I can pop part of the trim off enough to see that most of the clips are the push on type, as you mention, but the last clip on the end is designed to slide on. Without removing...- cmatthewschulz

any DIY suggestion My wife just had the same experience today. Before I give up and let the dealer fix it, I wonder if anyone else has figured out the DIY solution. Looks to me like it should slide on, but I am reluctant to pull too hard on the other end where I assume a similar clip exists...- cmatthewschulz
