I bought a 2004 Westminster last week and this past weekend the alarm started going off every time I unlock the car. It doesn't matter if I use the viper remote (it has viper alarm), the LR key fob, or the LR key in the drivers door to lock and unlock the car it goes off every time it is unlocked. I thought it was a voltage drop issue because I checked the battery and it had a dead cell. I put a new good battery in the RR and nothing changed.

Can anyone help?

Sadly Land Rovers and aftermarket alarms don't mix, I would start by removing the Viper and see if you can get the Rover to think straight again.

I disconnected the Viper alarm and still had the problem. It doesn't have anything to do with the Viper, it is something with the LR factory security system. Set up an appointment at my local LR dealer but I really don't want to pay them $100 to plug it up and tell me the alarm is screwed up.

If you have disconnected the viper (which by the way the LR dealer would charge you to do anyways) and this issue is still there, it sounds like maybe a bad sensor. Sorry can't say for sure but that would be my guess.
