I own a 99 disco II and I am having problems with the suspension. Keep in mind that I live way up north were tempetures can go as low as -44c. The air in the suspension seems to leak out when the truck is stopped outside (when it is parked in the garage it stays up). When I start it, the compressor does not always seem to kick in. It seems like I have 2 different problems and being that they are both intermittent they will cost a fortune to diagnose unless someone came across the same problem?

Your 99 Discovery does not have air suspension. Only offered in the new LR3 and rear air suspension in late model Discovery, ie. 2004.

Sounds like you could use some new springs though.

I just contacted my dealer and he confirmed that I do have air suspension in the rear. He also says it is more than likely that my air bags are due to be changed. He does however think it is odd that the compressor does not kick in all the time.

Ahhh, self leveling rear suspension. I'll eat my words then. I really thought that wasn't offered until 03 or 04. I have an 03 and I declined that option....I figured it was just one more thing that could go wrong although I hear it's a nice feature.

If you know of a good independent shop, you can get the parts on the website I mentioned.

Good luck.
