Alternator Replacement 2000 Discovery II

Was wondering if it is difficult to change the alternator on a 2000 Discovery II, the bearing is starting to go and making a noise and I want to change it myself to try to save a few bucks. Does anyone have pictures doing so and if so please send a response. Thank You!

I don't have pictures but it is very simple just watch the main wires coming into the alt. they tend to break. yea as I think about it tis very easy if you have problems I take some pics and put them up for you.

If it is anything like the D1, it's quite easy. Use a breaker bar or long socket bar with a 13mm (???) socket and turn the tensioner pulley (below and to the left of the alternator) to the right/clockwise. It should move out of the way and slacken the belt. Remove belt from alternator, remove two bolts (10mm?) and the wires from alternator (1/2" and 3/8", if I recall), whack the old alternator with a rubber mallet till it comes loose, and remove. Replace, reconnect, rebolt, and rebelt and you're all set.

If your engine compartment looks like mine, you'll marvel at the one shiny thing under there
