I can’t for the life of me remember what it is called.
Anyway, I purchased a 97 Disco SE7 this weekend.
It had no major oil leaks I could see, the guy said it used 1 quart between 4000 mile changes. Looking at the motor that sounded about right, it has 119,000 on the motor.
I buy it, drive it 100 miles home.
When I got out at home, I detected the faint smell of burning oil. Nothing terrible, but there.
So I pop the hood. It appeared that some was on the driver side exhaust manifold.
I went to inspect the hose mentioned above and it came off in my hand.
The hose appears to be fairly new, but it has no clamps.
It may even be a bit larger than necessary because it came off with no effort or twisting.

Are there normally clamps on this hose? I know there are in the cars I have dealt with.

This is the hose that ventilates the crank case to the intake.

Thanks

If LHD, then drivers side is a vacuum line and should not have clamps, but they probably did not buy the correct line (very expensive) just add some clamps.

If RHD, then drivers side is the EGR valve, and should not have clamps, but they probably did not buy the correct line (very expensive) just add some clamps.

I think I will procede with the clamps. It is a LHD vehicle, but there is oil inside of the hose. I think it definitely is an EGR hose.

The same hose popped loose on my truck as well. I used simple zipties to clamp it and it's held up well.
