Has anyone actually ordered this and had it installed? What are the postives and negatives? Can you actually see the songs on the factory radio? Do the controls on the radio or steering wheel run the iPod? Help! I don't want to be the guinea pig on this thing.

Does it work for 2003 Range Rovers? That would be nice. I was all about getting a double din sized aftermarket head unit and spending a good 3 or 4 hours on wiring and such.

OK, so I just got the ACM installed on my 07 RRS. I'll go through the pros and cons.

Pros:

- Excellent sound quality. Compared to the option of connecting your iPod in the AUX jack, the sound is 100x better with the ACM.

- Conveniently places your iPod in the glove box. No wires going around the cabin. It also gives you the option of a USB port connection.

- Charges your iPod like most other iPod interface modules.

- You can change songs and playlists from your steering wheel.

Cons:

- You cannot see what songs or playlists are coming up. It's a connectivity module, not an interface module. It's really a fancy, convenient connection device.

- Feeding of the last point, you can only see a list of playlists on the iPod itself. You cannot see anything on the main radio unit or the nav screen.

- When receiving a Bluetooth call or changing to Sat. or terrestrial radio, the iPod continues to play. You must manually pause or turn off your iPod to stop it.

- Can be quite pricey for a connectivity module.

Overall, once you get used to it, the better sound quality, convenience and charging capabilities make it worth it if you can afford to spend anywhere from $500 - $750 for that convenience. It's up to you; for me, I'm glad I did it, but I wish it was like the module in my Audi that is a true interface module. I guess, the best way to put it is that it's worth it although it's a bit annoying and some people will never get used to the quirks of using it and that's understandable.

Hope this helps...

I agree with your pros and cons, have one installed on mine. It isnt a inexpensive option, then again what RR option is not at a premium.....
