Hey, anyone wanna help me? I have both valve cover gaskets leaking on me. I was looking into replacing the spark plug wires and plugs and i noticed there was oil leaking. A pretty good amount too. The undercarage and exhaust had some on it. Anyone know how hard it is to do. I'm somewhat inclined to do it myself, Is it worth it? Or should i bring it to my private Rover machanic? If i can do it myself anyone wanna give me hints or a procedure to do it. Thanks everyone.

Year? American/UK specs? State - smog stuff? Should be pretty straight forward, just put everything back in the right place

Valve cover gaskets are definately a do-it-yourself item. It's also a good time to check for sludge build-up. Just hope it's only the valve covers and not headgaskets.

It's ONLY the valve gaskets i cleaned it all up and took note on where the oil was coming from. Thank god its not the head gaskets, i just bought the thing. But it is do it yourself. Do you have to take off the upper manifold or whatever its called. a procedure list would be cool if you've done it before or if you know someone who has.

You have to remove the upper intake unfortunately, nothing really hard just a poor design for having to change the rocker cover gaskets.

I had the same problem on my 99 DII.. A Junkyard mechanic did the job for me for relatively cheap.. If you don't want to do it yourself you can take it to any shop for that, no dealer neccassary
