Does anyone have any experience or knowledge to share in using products like Dynamat in the Engine Bay, such as on the bulkhead / firewall or under the hood?

Background.

I am not happy with the factory insulation in the engine bay and along with looking at using Dynamat products for sound deadening and heat insulation in the interior of my LR4, I am exploring applications in the engine bay.

In this case, we pulled out the old firewall insulating mat today (and I pulled off the hood one years ago).

I suspect that the Dynamat products will be more effective so I am going to do some experimentation with those.

I am curious if folks have any knowledge or experience with these products and would like to hear folks experiences and lessons learned.

Waffle Square did place some sound deadening on the hood but not very much and he never followed-up with thoughts and conclusions.

Here is the bay looking at the bulkhead with the insulator removed as well as the actual insulation.

This is the "new and improved" dynamat extreme sound deaden-er and heat insulator matting installed on the bulkhead today.

My hood has an solid plate of black insulation attached to it. I never thought of dynamat in there. Some LR4's no longer have that piece so if you don't have that its far better than dynamat. The doors and such maybe would help to have dynamat in there for the sound quality. In my rig need to look at the RPM gauge sometimes to see if the engine is on or off. Its super quiet, but that is relative.
