Surely a stuck clutch on an 05 LR3 w/ 60kmiles rear differential locking motor doesn't justify a replacement motor? It's got the dash light up and hunkered down on the suspension, I put it into Land Rover and a new motor is prescribed. Isn't it just like a starter bendix and needs to be freed off? Position sensor also giving fault in diagnostic. no noises, no other symptoms but the fault lights and lowered suspension, it could be cleared by switching off and on but after a few days wouldn't clear. Anybody had the same issue? Appreciate the input.

You might be able to run it through diagnostics and recalibration to clear the problem. You might also have a wiring problem.

The motor is one thing, the clutches are quite another, that is internal. PM me with your e-mail address and I will send you some information, pictures, and so on.
