Hello Gents,
Have the unfortunate luck of helping out a buddy who did not take care of his freelander. Took on the job replacing both front Axles, ball joints, and needs some exhaust work done. The axles were really no big deal but the ball joints were probably the dumbest thing we decided to do. After finding out new lower arms with ball joints installed were only $75, the hours spent dismantling the old riveted in set was just plain stupid. It took grinding, torching and air chiseling the old nuclear grade rivets out and partially trashing a control arm to figure that out. Anyway, have a few questions hopefully someone can answer. (2005 Freelander SE)
1. Where is the fill port for the front transfer case. Lost a little fluid on the axle swap and want to do a full flush.
2. Where can exhaust parts be bought? The flex pipe on the driver side is blown out and the dealer wants $330 for a 15" pipe with the horribly made flex joint in it.
I just need this project done and those are the last parts needed. Thanks in advance for the help.
