Hi everyone,

I just picked up a 96 Range Rover 4.0SE with 158K on it.
The car is in great condition inside and out. But like all RR's its got its fair share of issues.

first one I'd like to address:

The ABS light TC light and Brake light (red as if the hand brake is on). The brakes are mushy, first pedal push, nothing, then when I release it quickly, the brakes act as they should. I dont have a problem eliminating the ABS all together, but I want the brakes to be rock ******* the first push. Anyone know if this is a simple bleeding the brakes solution. Also, any special procedure?

second issue:

I will be bypassing the EAS with manual inflation...any way to eliminate the "EAS Fault 35mph" message? Also, I would like to remove all the EAS computer influences entirely.
Is this possible?

And lastly:

Anyone know why it comes up or how to fix the RH-F door open message. The door is closed and the electric locks work, but the message on the dash says its open???

Thanks in advance!

the abs warning light could be dirty abs sensors these are located on top of hub looks like a small rubber **** carefully remove them (they can be stiff) inspect them give them a wipe with a rag quick squirt of wd40 and replace do all 4 it sorted my warning lights
to elliminate eas warning light you will have to find a 4x4 specialist and get the computer reset its the only way as far as i know about £30 if you by pass the eas the car will not lower to motorway running after 50 mph i dont really understand why you are manually blowing it up as the computer adjusts the air pressure via the 5 valve block and you may end up with the car running too high or low if you want to sort it completely i would say convert your car to springs hope thats helpful im just going by problems i have had

well i have a 96 p38 i bought used of course and have had the same problems. first thing if the wheel sensor fix does not work then what i foubd my problem to be was the pump itself. i bought a used abs pump and accumulator for 125usd and it cured my squishy break issue. its been a year and still no problems. also when i installed it immediatly fixed my warning light issues. as for the eas there is a program u can download to reset your eas fault. i dont know how to post links but the site is RSW solutions.com. hope this helps.

i just eliminated the aes system on a 99 hse, there is a way to put the aes system in manual mode but it depends on what year you have, i do know the 99 is different then the classic, what year is yours?

aes manual mode

ok, assuming you have replaced the air bags with a strut system on a 95 and newer range rover hse the instuctions are as follows:
1. locate the eas control module beneath the drivers seat. ( this is the lowest module, beneath the transmission control module)
2. disconnect the module connector, in the in the wiring harness leading to the module locate blue wire with pink stripe.
3. cut this wire and permanently ground it.
4.locate the blue wire with white stripe and temporarly ground it
5. turn the ignition to the "RUN" position
6. listen for the audible alert, then remove the blue/white wire from temporary ground and tape up the end of the wire to avoid shorts.
7.this action will put the module in eas manual mode and eliminate the fault 35 mph warning light. leave the module connector unplugged and cover it with tape and your done.

hope this helps

Ok not trying to steel tread but I am having same type of issue, in the above instructions the B/P wire which cut end gets grounded connector end or harness end, I guess it would be easier if I ask if between step 1 and 7 do you ever plug connector back in.
mine already has springs on it just wire under seat got unplugged and dash says slow down. shift to neutral, 35 mph max

Ok played with it for a bit found I didn"t need to cut any wires just found which pins went to those wires and a ground pin and just made a jumper and put in connector to do the same thing that way I dont have wires cut up in the harness but I am still getting a put in neutral message on cluster and shift bezel lights flashing.
