Hi all,

I have just acquired a late '80's range rover. I have plans for the engine, but am parting out everything else.

The body is in rough shape, but the taillight lenses, door handles etc are still in good nick, as are the gearbox, transfer case and axles.

This is a project that has just begun so there wont be any pic for a week or so.

If there is something specific you need let me know. I will have more details on the vehicle itself after this coming weekend.

Mileage on the odometer is 88000, and the previous owner says it hasn't rolled over yet, but I can't verify that.

Parting out '80s range rover

A couple other things you might want to know.

The vehicle was imported from Germany to Canada, so its the European Spec.

It's a two-door.

It's red (and mossy in places )

I did drive it last spring and all 4 fwd gears work in both ranges, as does reverse.

The interior is pretty much shot, but the gauges, switches and warning lights all work. Even the speedo.

The only parts I am keeping are the motor and the heater plenum and core.

You folks will know a lot more about this vehicle than I do, but I will endeavour to give the most accurate info possible.

No reasonable offer refused, shipping will be from Canada. International no prob, but bigger items like axles etc will have to go by freight. I will crate/package everything as needed, buyer pays shipping.

So it turns out that it isn't a Classic from the '80s. Further info suggests it is in fact a '79.

As I said, you folks know way more about these than I do, so if you can help nail down what it is I'd be happy for the help. Hopefully the chassis number is of some help.

The vehicle has been parked for over 10 years so the body is shot. Most of the soft interior (carpet, headliner etc) is also rotten, but the door handles, window regulators, dash and switches etc are in good shape and all appear to be working.
