No Oil pressure after reubilding 04 disco engine help

so i just finished rebuilding my dsico 4.6 with new rings and all the goodies dropped it in the car primed the oil pump with vaseline like every one suggested crank the enigne with the spark and fuel disabled tried to prime the engine up and when we fired the engine up it will not prime
didn't let me run more then 10 secs twice may be 3 times
i had tried everything pulled the spark plugs out and then tried to prime it just will not happen pulled the pressure releif valve out and filled it with priming lube filled the oil filter up with oil and then i tried to fill the oil in the pump through couple of bolts for the oil cooler which was never on this truck any ways i m using castrol gtx 5w30 oil i have had it with this truck now and i m loosing my mind on it i would be really appreciative on any input how to get the oiling system goin without ruining the rebuilt engine
