I recently purchased a used Land Rover Discovery II SE7 (or something like that). I looked underneath the vehicle only to discover a hole in the Torque Converter (I believe it is called that). The hole looks to have been sealed at one point as there are 3 screw threads.
Upon further research I learned that this is the Torque Converter Cover. I know some cars actually have a hole near the clutch for ventilation purposes. But, it seems like a hole like that is just asking for a rock to fly up into the Clutch and cause some serious damage.
Any thoughts? Should I order the cover? Will installing it cause the clutch to overheat and wear out prematurely?
Thanks!
Kyle
